Overview

The Senior Scope 3 Analyst will be responsible for the collection, analyses, validation, and presentation of results of environmental sustainability and energy data (primarily Federal Scope 3 reporting) and for providing technical expertise to government supply chain experts. Expertise in greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting and project management is required. The candidate will calculate the federal scope 3 impact and recommend best practices for reducing GHG emissions footprints across federal agencies.

A successful candidate will demonstrate competency in federal GHG accounting, project execution, leadership, critical thinking, relationship management, and business growth while upholding the highest standard of ethical behavior.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement GHG (Scope 3) calculation methodologies and procedures.
  • Research GHG disclosure practices across federal agencies and commercial entities.
  • Conduct baseline emissions evaluations and summarize findings across sectors.
  • Provide input to automated reporting tools to support GHG disclosure.
  • Advise agencies on data integrity considerations for measured and estimated GHG data.
  • Act as a technical advisor to Federal stakeholders on expected impacts of proposed GHG accounting procedures.
  • Draft executive summary reports and white papers for sustainability/GHG data which may include standard operating procedures (SOPs), briefings, feasibility studies, position papers, and similar analytical products in support of the client.
  • Identify high priority areas for emissions reductions.
  • Management of complex projects ensuring that goals, requirements, and outcomes are defined and that the appropriate resources are allocated.
  • Collect and analyze independent performance data.
  • Develop and execute project plans.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ related experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental Studies, Economics, Sustainability, Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, or General), Supply Chain Management, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience in GHG emissions accounting.
  • Extensive understanding of methodologies for all upstream Scope 3 categories.
  • Direct experience managing Scope 3 inventory efforts for large organizations.
  • 5+ years of consulting experience.
  • Federal or commercial sustainability experience preferred.
  • Experience handling multiple, demanding, and complex tasks in a timely manner with accurate results.
  • Experience with at least one programming language desired.
  • Understanding of data management, environmental reporting, and data integrity.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
  • Expertise in energy and sustainability policy and initiatives.
  • Experience working with federal agencies.
