Overview

GENERAL SUMMARY:

LMI, a not-for-profit government consulting firm, is seeking a management consultant within its Organization and Human Capital Solutions practice.  Candidates must possess an active SECRET DoD clearance to be considered for this position.

Responsibilities

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role is contingent upon contract award. The Department of Defense (DoD) Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Development Office resides within the DoD Laboratories Office under the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Research & Engineering (ASD R&E).  The STEM Development Office serves an important role within the Department through the monitoring of and investment in the STEM workforce of the future.  The selected individual will serve as the lead for all communications and partnership based activities.

 

General Duties:

 

  • Serves a team lead for operations and STEM strategy execution. Interacts regularly with other contractors, industry, and intergovernmental partners to execute programs in support of DoD STEM goals and initiatives.
  • Serve as team lead for all new partnership initiatives. Seeks out partners in academia and industry and crafts mutually beneficial monetary and non-monetary partnership arrangements.
  • Assist in STEM planning activities. In particular, assists in developing responses to Congressional and DoD requirements as well as STEM-generated planning efforts.
  • Provide support to working groups, integrated process teams, and other STEM committees.
  • Conduct analysis of existing or proposed guidance and direction covering the STEM program, including any public laws or executive orders.
  • Monitor and evaluate STEM funding and assist in the STEM PPBE process.
  • Assist in the development, conduct, and responses to data calls for STEM programmatic information.
  • Supports global event planning and execution to include developing talking points for senior leaders attending events.
  • Supporting research projects, capability development efforts, and innovation efforts
  • Supporting project management, logistics, and communication activities
  • Supporting proposal and business development efforts as needed

 

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of work experience or Master’s degree with 1-3 years of experience
  • Demonstrated progressive responsibility in project management and planning positions
  • Ability to develop client work products and deliverables
  • Ability to work in a team based environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and presentation skills
  • Excellent customer relationship management skills

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:         

  • 5 years recent experience directly supporting DoD science and technology organizations
  • Demonstrated success in conception and execution of STEM programs in the DoD environment
  • Recent experience and intimate understanding of STEM education and the DoD connection to STEM
