Responsibilities

This position presents an excellent opportunity for a candidate with 3-5 years of internal controls experience. The successful candidate for this position will provide expertise in several areas of internal controls and risk analysis. Specific requirements include:

  • Applies working knowledge of risk identification, analysis and assessment, and the standards of internal control (control environment, risk assessment, control activities, information and communication, and monitoring).
  • Applies working knowledge of internal control procedures in conducting and reporting of audit planning, audit remediation and the associated business risks.
  • Assists in assessing operational weaknesses, performing process improvement analysis, and developing corrective action plans.
  • Assists in planning and scoping of the audit engagement; identifies and document key internal controls; executes detailed test plans and develops results summaries; evaluate internal control design and operating effectiveness; identifies and corrects deficiencies within the internal control environment; helps develop audit findings, recommendations, and reports that identify control weaknesses and the resulting residual risks.
  • Executes work plans to evaluate internal controls related to financial risks, operational activities (including assets, acquisition and IT), and compliance requirements.
  • Adheres to the project schedule to meet project requirements and client deliverables; completes assigned work activities and planned tasks within specified client time frame; meets all requirements; assists with preparation of milestone status reports and presentations.
  • Applies working knowledge and ability to effectively employ a broad range of data analysis tools to maximize audit efficiency and effectiveness (including ACL, Access, Excel, Visio, etc.)
  • Applies working knowledge and understanding of professional standards (Professional Practices Framework of the IIA, GAAS, COSO, ISACA, and GAAP).
  • Applies working knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance issues related to Sarbanes-Oxley Sections 302 and 404, OMB A-136, CFO Act, etc.
  • Prior supervisory experience within an Internal Audit department (preferably) performing Financial Audits, Operational Audits. IT Audits is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 3–5 years of experience with risk management and/or internal controls
  • Applies working knowledge of risk identification, analysis and assessment, and the standards of internal control (control environment, risk assessment, control activities, information and communication, and monitoring).
  • Applies working knowledge of internal control procedures in conducting and reporting of audit planning, audit remediation and manage control review.
  • Perform broad analyses to identify business objectives and resource requirements and evaluate the associated business risks.

Beneficial Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree (MA, MS, MBA) in Business, Finance, Accounting or Economics highly desired
  • Certifications: Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information System Auditor (CISA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA)
  • Experience with PeopleSoft financial system
  • Experience with asset accounting
  • Experience with Acquisition interfaces to financial
