This position is on the consulting staff of a management consulting organization headquartered in McLean, VA. The analyst will work on-site at the offices of the United States Transportation Command, Command, Control, Communications, and Computer Systems (TCJ6), Scott AFB, Illinois. Directly supporting the CIO Support Division (TCJ6-A) in the Enterprise Data Office (EDO), the analyst is expected to offer technical advice and guidance as USTRANSCOM refines its corporate data strategy toward becoming fully interoperable with the DoD distribution systems.  The analyst will work directly with Government and contract employees on a daily basis.


In direct support of TCJ6-A, the analyst will:

  • Develop and deliver plans and schedules, functional and technical requirements, risk assessments, and solution alternatives for USTRANSCOM interoperability efforts.
  • Advise USTRANSCOM on DOD data integration, electronic data interchange (EDI), and industry data matters as it continues to enhance its corporate data strategy.
  • Represent USTRANSCOM interests at DOD distribution data coordination meetings and other conferences, panels, and groups that are focusing on DOD interoperability.

Specifically, the analyst will:

  • Represent LMI functional and technical capabilities to TCJ6-A and other high-level USTRANSCOM managers.
  • Act as on-site focal point for LMI’s E-Business (TCJ6-A) support.
  • Accomplish LMI’s goals and objectives in support of the USTRANSCOM Distribution E-Business Program.
  • Attend various transportation industry meetings in cities across North America.
  • Organize and facilitate meetings, compose and publish meeting minutes, and file trip reports and other business notes and correspondence.
  • Team on various other LMI logistics technology efforts as required.


  • A Bachelors degree with 3 years experience or 7 years experience with no degree OR a Masters degree and 1 year experience working with logistics information systems and their data interfaces desirable.
  • Professional experience or academic training in information systems and web-based technologies is mandatory.
  • Familiarity with data modeling, database design, XML, and EDI X12 required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office is mandatory.
  • Available for travel.
  • Secret clearance required.
