Overview

Management consulting leadership position with a Tysons, VA firm specializing in government management consulting. The Program Manager (PM) will help develop, lead and manage the Infrastructure, Energy & Environment’s (IE&E) group’s Department of Defense (DoD) practice. IE&E is a professional group of consultants supporting a broad array of federal clients with services related to infrastructure and engineering management, facilities and asset management, environmental planning and compliance, and sustainability, climate and energy. The PM position is a demanding, multi-faceted job requiring the skills of an experienced leader, manager, business developer, and subject matter expert skilled in at least two of the group’s core offerings. The IE&E PM must also have a strong professional network in the DoD facilities and environmental consulting space. This position is located in Tysons, VA.    

Responsibilities

  • Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a group of talented consultants within IE&E; build capacity of IE&E staff to advance the business in a way that aligns to the firm’s strategic plan; Mentor junior staff, and participate in corporate initiatives as needed/requested’
  • Project Delivery: Lead the delivery of highly developed IE&E consulting capabilities across a diverse portfolio of projects and agencies ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Business Development: Identify new opportunities on a continual basis with an eye toward the building of a highly qualified pipeline consisting of rich opportunities in DoD spaces; play a leadership role in the oversight and execution of multiple, simultaneous proposals; network and participate in industry events; develop marketing/position papers; and maintain client relationships.
  • Strategy: Help develop and execute a multi-year growth strategy leveraging the firm’s existing business development resources.
  • Administration: Comply with all administrative corporate reporting and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree from top academic institutions.
  • Passion in the belief that a well-functioning federal government can have beneficial and meaningful impact on the lives of its citizens.
  • Knowledge of DoD MILCON and related budgeting processes.
  • Understanding of DoD systems and tools used to support infrastructure and environmental programs.
  • Demonstrated success as a collaborator and capacity builder; and a leadership philosophy that is centered on success of the enterprise.
  • Minimum ten years of related work experience, with fifteen years preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability in the successful management of both small- and large-scale consulting projects. This includes all aspects of project capture, bid and proposal, pricing, project initiation, execution, and closeout.
  • Demonstrated command of the core principles of effective management and leadership, including the ability to effectively prioritize, delegate, and manage competing priorities and a multitude of ongoing administrative, client delivery, and business development-related tasks.
  • Demonstrated proposal development success having worked on small, transactional proposals ranging from $25,000 - $1,000,000 and large-scale, multi-year, multi-million dollar proposals requiring the delivery of integrated firm-wide offerings, and complex teaming arrangements.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and facilitate the careers of aspiring, highly talented consulting professionals.
  • Must have a large, diverse, professional network in the DoD federal consulting.
  • Availability for occasional travel.U.S citizenship is required for this position.
