This position presents an excellent opportunity for an experienced Cost Analyst in the Aberdeen, MD area with 3+years of DOD program support experience. 

Responsibilities

 

Planning, Budget Execution, & also reconciliation.

  • Participate on a contractor team of analysts providing technical and program management support in Aberdeen, MD.  Responsible for conducting cost analysis and program assessment in support of government program managers and other financial management stakeholders. There may be occasional travel.

Duties may include:

  • Provide financial and operational execution analysis, research, recommendation, and costed options for impacts and financial changes that result from operational planning changes.
  • Be familiar with and able to apply accounting principles
  • Provide cost comparison and economic analysis (EA) in discussion and for inclusion and consideration at decision points.
  • Conduct analyses of alternatives (AOA) and business case analyses (BCA)
  • Develop and apply cost models as necessary to address resource analysis issues
  • Develop new analysis methods and techniques to forecast long-range funding needs
  • Provide monthly execution analysis, research, responses to customer inquiries, and be involved in the collection and presentation of data for various briefings and working groups
  • Assist in preparation and of PowerPoint presentations, process summary reports, meeting minutes/ notes, and other program management documentation.
  • Evaluate cost proposals and the underlying data

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of cost estimating experience with large complex software intensive programs (preferably DODI 5000.02 Defense acquisition systems) using parametric models, such as ACEIT and other advanced software estimating techniques required.
  • Knowledge of earned value management methods, using data and developing cost reports are required.
  • Documented DoD cost estimator training is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Economics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering, or similar technical discipline is preferred.
  • Must be familiar and comfortable with Microsoft Office applications with ability to created well-thought and detailed briefings, as well as provide detailed cost reports.
  • Must be able to lead and collaborate with others in project team-oriented environment, communicate complex analyses verbally and in writing, and develop innovative approaches to solving technical challenges.
