Position is on the staff of a private, not-for-profit consulting firm located in Tysons, VA and provides technical and analytical expertise within a broad spectrum of public policy management. Director position is a demanding, multi-faceted job requiring the skills of an experienced leader, manager, business developer, and subject matter expert skilled in at least two of the group’s core offerings. This position is located in Tysons, VA.


Business Development:

  • Serve as Division point of contact for LMI contract vehicles, such as OASIS, TEAMS, etc. Review all task orders and work with PDs (internal to the group and across LMI) to determine which task orders could be led and/or supported by the Technology Services Division.
  • Assist on all proposals, as needed, to lead response, coordinate resources, work pricing, and teaming agreements.
  • Work with BD representatives on gate reviews.
  • Coordinate with BD representatives and regional managers on partner meetings to discuss opportunities, including discussions on teaming, positioning strategy, etc.
  • Support pipeline management and analysis


Service Delivery (SD):

  • Provide account leadership for targeted accounts for the IT Services Division
  • Identify and position growth opportunities for LMI across the account base
  • Assist in the cross-sell of IT capabilities into other divisions and accounts.
  • Maintain a direct billing rate of at least 55%
  • Work with division project control on project performance and overall division revenue and margin health.
  • Mentor new Program Managers in terms of duties, processes, and supporting tools.
  • Work with PDs on staff utilization to balance workload and achieve target billable percentages. Coordinate with other divisions on over- and under-utilized individuals.
  • Coordinate with DVP and PDs on SD offsite meeting briefings and other SD meeting material, as needed.
  • Work with other DoDOs to ensure operational consistency across Service Delivery and corporate initiatives.



  • Resolve invoicing issues with Accounting as they arise.
  • Provide leadership in the development of go to market strategies for specific capabilities and services. 
  • Integrate efforts with LMI teams including BD and marketing to maximize the value of key content.
  • Coordinate division annual reviews and target review averages set by the DVP.
  • Coordinate with BD, Contracting and Legal on NDA, TAs, contracts and subcontracts, as needed, focused on contract terms and work share.


  • Bachelor’s Degree from top academic institutions.
  • Passion in the belief that a well-functioning federal government can have beneficial and meaningful impact on the lives of its citizens.
  • Demonstrated success as a collaborator and capacity builder; and a leadership philosophy that is centered on success of the enterprise.
  • Minimum ten years of related work experience, with fifteen years preferred; at least five years of experience managing a significantly sized consulting practice of 20 people or more with multiple clients and projects underway or under capture at any given time.
  • Demonstrated ability in the successful management of both small- and large-scale consulting projects. This includes all aspects of project capture, bid and proposal, pricing, project initiation, execution, and closeout.
  • Demonstrated command of the core principles of effective management and leadership, including the ability to effectively prioritize, delegate, and manage competing priorities and a multitude of ongoing administrative, client delivery, and business development-related tasks.
  • Demonstrated proposal development success having worked on small, transactional proposals ranging from $25,000 - $1,000,000 and large-scale, multi-year, multi-million dollar proposals requiring the delivery of integrated firm-wide offerings, and complex teaming arrangements.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and facilitate the careers of aspiring, highly talented consulting professionals.
  • Must have a large, diverse, professional network in the federal consulting space in both industry and government in either the defense or civil agencies, or both.
  • Availability for occasional travel.
