LMI is seeking a Junior Analyst to work as an Audit Readiness Consultant for a Department of Army (DA) program located in Crystal City, VA. The Analyst will use their background in financial management to assist the Army Enterprise Systems Integration Program (AESIP) in preparing for program auditability requirements and other audit activities. Specifically, the candidate will perform assessment and verification tasks for assigned programs as documented in respective Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). While the client is current located in Crystal City, VA, it is anticipated that the client will relocate to Fort Belvoir, VA in November 2017.

Responsibilities

Assist the government lead with:

  • Perform assessment and verification tasks to ensure the program’s Governance, Risk, & Compliance controls meet auditability compliance requirements.
  • Update/edit/write SOPs as necessary to ensure program compliance with relevant directives/policy/law.
  • Understand DoD and Army Finance regulations/policies and ensure processes/SOPs are in compliance.
  • Perform studies and analyses of regulations/policies/past audits as necessary.
  • As required, plan, coordinate and participate in meetings. Publish meeting minutes.
  • Pre-brief/brief relevant Senior Leadership on program SOP status and shortfalls/issues.
  • Develop and maintain a professional relationship with action officers in as well as other stakeholders and staff in order to more effectively perform cross-staff and program coordination.
  • Actively participate and provide relevant input into recurring Financial Management Division meetings.
  • Coordinate and facilitate document and meeting requests in support of audit related activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum two years of experience
  • IT experience desirable
  • Proficient with SharePoint and maintaining knowledge management (document/file management)
  • Excellent analytical skills; strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Good communication skills to coordinate issues with internal/external staffs and stakeholders via email and phone.
  • Security clearance is required
  • Available for occasional travel from Crystal City, VA to Richmond, VA; Huntsville, AL; and Picatinny Arsenal, NJ areas.
