Overview

 

Position is on the staff of a private government consulting firm headquartered in McLean, VA. Work will be at client location in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

 

The General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS) is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join a high performing team in the acquisition and development of a financial management Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) capability for the US Army. This is a senior position that will serve as the Project Manager for the deployment and modification of GFEBS for the Defense Health Agency (DHA), including the Navy’s Bureau of Medicine and Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences (USUHS). The Senior Project Manager will report to the Product Director GFEBS Development and Modernization (DevMod) and lead all planning, training, and technical upgrades to the GFEBS system to support DHA. The Senior Project Manager will represent the PD at a variety of events and coordinate planning and execution for the deployment.

Responsibilities

 

  1. Lead implementation of multiple, concurrent, cross-functional strategic IT programs and business process projects.
  2. Lead, plan, and execute a deployment strategy that includes provisioning system capabilities at DHA locations worldwide.
  3. Develop and manage key project artifacts such as project schedules, status reports, work plans, stakeholder engagement plans and decision-making model
  4. Strategize with and advise project sponsor/business lead regarding project direction and decisions.
  5. Develops overall project management calendars and schedules that accurately reflect the scope of the work holistically and by initiative to ensure visibility and alignment to organization priorities and resource allocation.
  6. Ensure GFEBS capabilities are ready for deployment by overseeing requirements analysis, system modifications, and validation of system capabilities to meet mission requirements
  7. Plan, lead, and develop a training delivery strategy for new users
  8. Leverage program lifecycle management methods, tools and techniques to constantly monitor and report on progress of project/program
  9. Develop and present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or graduate degree in management is desirable
  • Project Management Institute PMP, or equivalent certification required
  • A verifiable history of involvement in a leadership role for large scale, complex SAP or ERP projects over their full lifecycle
  • Experience with designing, implementing project management and managing a program management office
  • Experience planning and developing cost estimates for large scale IT deployments
  • Proven experience in leading, influencing and driving change management
  • Strong management skills with proven ability to drive projects to successful completion-on time and within budget are required
  • Experience in defense acquisition logistics
  • Experience supporting a Defense Business System
  • Experience with and influencing senior management
  • Employment Status: For this position, W-2 (LMI employee) employment status is highly preferred.
  • Travel. Frequent travel throughout the Continental US (CONUS) area with some overseas travel to Hawaii, Korea, and Germany.
  • Security Clearance. For this position, a current DoD SECRET security clearance is required.
