Overview

Overview:
LMI is seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to support the U.S. Army Training Information System (ATIS) program. ATIS is a major Army initiative to modernize and consolidate Army training systems into a single, cloud-native, enterprise-level capability. As part of an Agile Release Train (ART) operating under the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), this role will involve leading the design, deployment, and maintenance of secure, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructure for training and education delivery across the Army enterprise. The incumbent will act as a recognized technical subject matter expert, providing strategic advisory and direction to the organization and clients.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain AWS GovCloud environments following DevSecOps best practices to ensure the solutions are secure, resilient, and scalable.
  • Participate in the implementation of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using GitLab and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation to enhance automation processes.
  • Work closely with cybersecurity teams to support Initial Authority to Test (IATT), Authority to Operate (ATO), and ensure comprehensive documentation and compliance with security standards.
  • Document, analyze, and improve upon high availability and disaster recovery solutions, applying innovative techniques to enhance system reliability and uptime.
  • Act as a technical subject matter expert within and beyond the organization, contributing to the development of innovative and effective solutions to complex engineering problems.
  • Use your broad expertise or unique knowledge to solve complex problems and influence the development of organizational objectives and principles.
  • Provide rapid response and surge support for additional ATIS systems as needed, ensuring agility and flexibility in meeting emergent challenges.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Active Secret security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
  • 6+ years of experience in AWS cloud engineering and automation.
  • Active DoDI 8140 certification/qualification.
  • Demonstrated expertise in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
  • Experience supporting secure DoD systems with CI/CD and containerization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AWS Certification (Architect or DevOps).
  • Experience with FedRAMP, FISMA, or DoD cloud accreditation.

Travel Requirements:

  • Occasional travel required (e.g., quarterly for PI Planning, user engagement sessions, and key program milestones).

Target salary range: $131,987 - 227,328
