Overview

Management consulting position with a Tysons, VA firm specializing in government operations. The Senior Logistics Consultant will advise clients on ways to improve effectiveness and efficiency in supply chains related to troop support: subsistence, clothing and textiles, construction and equipment, medical, and industrial hardware. This position is located in Philadelphia, PA with occasional travel to Washington, DC and other customer locations.

Responsibilities

  • Consulting - Analyze and recommend improvements to Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, and other agency acquisition, product support, and logistics policies and procedures. Focus on troop support commodities, their suppliers, and agency customers.       Provide functional and commodity subject matter expertise to project teams as they meet or exceed client expectations for technical, cost, and schedule performance.
  • Business development – Meet with current and potential clients to determine operational challenges. Meet with potential teaming partners to determine capabilities and co-marketing strategies. Qualify potential business opportunities. Support internal multi-disciplinary marketing teams. Support proposals.
  • Innovation -   Develop and participate in leading-edge research into logistics practices and tools, collaborating with LMI researchers and industrial and university affiliates.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in logistics, operations research, mathematics, engineering, economics, business management, or a related discipline required.
  • 20 or more years’ experience.
  • Leadership experience in acquisition or logistics operations involving procurement, supply management, or industrial operations.
  • Demonstrated success designing and implementing business process reengineering initiatives.
  • Military or civil service at or above the grade of O-5/GS-14 required.
  • Defense Logistics Agency experience highly desirable.
  • DAWIA Level III certification or equivalent desirable.
  • Superior communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Current U.S. Government security clearance preferred; ability to obtain one is required.
  • Available for occasional travel.
