Overview

 

This position is on the staff of a government consulting firm, headquartered in Tysons, VA. This position will work in client space in Fort Lee, VA.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

The Senior Logistics/OCS Planner will be responsible for operational plans, conducting contracting actions, and managing contracted support using a programmatic operational approach across the staff’s of Combatant Commands (CCMDs), Joint Task Forces (JTFs), and Service Component Commands. The individual will require current knowledge and skill sets to plan and integrate OCS contract support, contracting support, and contractor management at the Service component commands to:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of OCS frameworks to include formation of OCS boards, bureaus, centers and cells, and deliver tailored instruction and tutoring to service component staff.
  • Assist in the development of OCS requirements for operational plans.  
  • Assist in the integration of OCS doctrine and principles across the Service Component staffs.

Qualifications

 

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university
  • 10 years of military operational experience (5 of which earned as O-4/civilian equivalent or above).
  • SAMS, JAWS, SAASS, or SAW graduate desired.
  • Operational experience shall include planning and executing combined and joint operations at the theater or component level.
  • Experience with the Joint Operation Planning and Execution System (JOPES) desired.
  • Multi-theater operational or senior staff (Combatant Command or Joint Staff) experience required.
  • Graduate of Phase I and Phase II JPME required.
  • Significant travel may be required.

Other Desired Experience:

  • Recent experience with the Joint Capabilities Integration Development Systems (JCIDS) as it relates to OCS is desired.
  • Attendance at the Joint OCS Planning & Execution Course (JOPEC).
  • Knowledge of Operational Contract Support (OCS)/Expeditionary Contracting current community of practice, capability gaps, strategic guidance, relevant current operations support issues, joint doctrine, resources, and automation systems, particularly those emerging over the last four years.
  • Familiarity with the key stakeholders and organizations in the OCS Communities of Interest.

CLEARANCE Requirement:

Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. For this position, LMI will only consider applicants with current security clearances at the Secret level with Top Secret sensitive compartmented information (SCI) eligibility. Please note that only U.S. Citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
