Overview

Opening is for mid-level consultant on the staff of a not-for-profit, government management consulting organization headquartered in Tysons, Virginia. This position will support our long-time client in the Performance Based Logistics Division of the Defense Logistics Agency at the client site on Fort Belvoir, VA. Top candidates will have a record of performance leading teams on multiple, concurrent efforts and develop and deliver implementable solutions in fast-paced, deadline driven environments.

The candidate selected will provide consulting support services in the areas of Performance Based Logistics, readiness, and sustainment policy and process; acquisition and procurement policy; process improvement and change management; program management support; and other related activities

Responsibilities

  • Manage execution of all support to J32 PBL Program Office and maintain an excellent client relationship with government and other contractor personnel
  • Lead/Assist customer develop strategies to implement Performance Based Logistics (PBL) support for both DLA customers and suppliers
  • Develop and execute methodologies in conjunction with the customer, positioning DLA obtain sustainment work in support of the F-35 Program including Partner and FMS participants
  • Support/participate in customer sponsored Working Groups/Tiger Teams supporting various client initiatives
  • Brief client and DLA Senior Leadership as required
  • Create briefings, reports, action plans, and other products based on client input for use by the client
  • Synthesize project findings into actionable recommendations with demonstrable benefits in business performance
  • Communicate with clients through written reports and oral presentations
  • Provide administrative support to client, such as creating briefing books, developing correspondence and scheduling meetings

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's (Masters preferred) degree in Business, Logistics, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or related field required
  • Active Secret clearance is required
  • Excellent MS PowerPoint skills required
  • Excellent communication skills required
  • 5-10 years of relevant work experience is required
  • Demonstrated progressive responsibility in project management and planning position
  • Ability to deliver client work products and deliverables
  • Ability to work in a fast paced team-based environment
  • Knowledge of MS Project
  • Knowledge of MS Visio
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and presentation skills
  • Excellent customer relationship management skills
