Overview

Management consulting position with a Tysons, VA firm specializing in government operations. The Technical Data SME will conduct analyses and lead multiple projects evaluating and improving digital technical data content and formats used to support weapons and other complex systems.

Responsibilities

  • Be LMI's SME on technical data for use in weapon systems with a focus on 3-dimensional models and data. Focus is on technical data for physical parts design, manufacture, sustainment, and disposition. This is not technical data for software development and sustainent.
  • Support and lead project teams analyzing use, content, and format of digital (3D) technical data for life cycle support of weapon systems, particularly operations and sustainment.
  • Conduct analyses and lead multiple projects that are enhancing the implementation of the Model Based Enterprise (MBE) across the Department of Defense (DoD).
  • Communicate with clients through informal meetings, written reports, and oral presentations.
  • Identify and develop potential business opportunities with federal, state, and commercial organizations.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree required.
  • Fifteen or more years' experience involving use of CAD/CAM software. Understanding of neutral formats available to share DoD technical data with small manufacturers and government organizations.
  • Knowledge of DoD, National Institutes of Standards and Technology, and US and international standards organizations governing technical data. Knowledge of DoD's MBE efforts. Participation in those efforts preferred; leadership role in DoD MBE a strong plus.
  • Recognized expert in the field highly desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead project teams and to deliver results on time and within budget.
  • Strong quantitative skills, including the ability to use spreadsheet, database, and project management software.
  • Familiarity with the government procurement process, weapon system design process, and logistics support strategies desired.
  • Superior communication skills, both oral and written.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Current U.S. Government security clearance required.
  • Available for occasional travel.
