Responsibilities

The Business Systems Analyst will be responsible for the creation, maintenance and management of IT architecture models and their lower level components. They will be required to interpret, use, and apply information contained within IT architectures to inform a range of business improvement activities, particularly those involved in the design, development, enhancement and maintenance of IT support systems. The position requires at least 3 years of enterprise architecture and business analyst experience.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Designing, developing and maintaining an as-is and to-be enterprise architecture (EA).         
  • Advising and recommending EA strategies, processes and methodologies.
  • Conducting analysis, evaluation and development of enterprise long-term strategic and operating plans to ensure that the EA objectives are consistent with the enterprise’s long-term business objectives.
  • Coordinating closely with business and system owners and stakeholders to determine business requirements and technology requirements. 
  • Conducting requirements gathering including tracking, outreach, and communication to improve IT business functions so they support future goals.
  • Developing and refining business architecture models that reflect the organization’s strategies and goals.
  • Assisting the government in assessing quality issues and coordinating to resolve issues associated with IT projects.
  • Extracting data from various enterprise architecture and IT portfolio management tools (e.g. System Architect, Troux, and eCPIC) and tailoring it for presentation to stakeholders at varying levels.
  • Providing proactive meeting facilitation support including meeting logistics support, detailed meeting minutes development, agenda development, and stakeholder management.
  • Providing written and oral presentations/briefings to clients on results.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience workign with Enterprise Architecture.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, computer science, or a related degree.
  • Ability to pass a background investigation.
  • Demonstrated proficiency working in EA frameworks (e.g., Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA) Federal Segment Architecture Methodology (FSAM), Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF), The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF), or other internationally-recognized frameworks such as the NAF and or the UAF).
  • Strong understanding of Google Suite of applications including Google Documents, Google Sheets, and Google Slides.
  • Excellent consulting skills to support and manage clients and customers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and process-driven methodologies.
  • Able to communicate effectively and confidently across multiple levels of staff, such as to end users, technologists, team members, and executive management.
  • Able to understand technology solutions including platforms, applications, computing languages, etc.
  • Process-driven analysis skills and a background in various requirements elicitation methods.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Must be self-directed, detail-oriented and able to coordinate and work with a dynamic team and multiple stakeholders.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to compose, write and edit a variety of general business correspondence, management reports, technical presentations, proposals and position papers.
