This position is sponsored by the Defense Health Agency, National Capital Region - Medical Directorate with actual on-site location at either 6000 MacArthur Blvd, Bethesda, MD or Ft. Responsibilities

Works with a small team of Program/Project Managers and Medical Equipment Planners/Logistics Management Subject Matter Experts to identify, collect medical equipment system information, and facilitate integration of medical devices and systems into the MHS Genesis electronic health record scheduled for implementation in the National Capital Region in 2020.  Provides technical skills in the selection, installation, modification, testing and evaluation of medical and dental instrumentation and equipment.  Meets with medical, dental, and administrative end user personnel. Maintains assessment meeting minutes and records IAW appropriate Program Management Office guidance/standards, collects data from medical equipment, validates data that has been previously collected, writes reports, and coordinates additional meetings and analysis. Knowledge of practices and procedures, methods, tools and materials used in the use, repair, and maintenance of clinical equipment. Demonstrates competency related to the use of service and repair manuals including understanding of operating instruction, service diagrams, flow charts and schematics. Experience in medical equipment assessment, repair, and provisioning. Military or civilian expertise and experience. Will work independently at times with little supervision and will be an active participant in Program Management Office environment. Local travel to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, the Joint Pathology Center, Fort Belvoir, Bolling Air Force Base, and NCR health clinics.

Qualifications

  • Ideal candidate will have five years of practical experience in medical equipment scheduled and unscheduled services, medical equipment planning, and/or equipment procurement services. Hands on experience with the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS) automated information system required.
  • Familiarity with the contracting processes and procedures.
  • Ability to conduct equipment inventory and life expectancy determinations
  • Help educate, demonstrate and advise personnel on correct operation, preventive maintenance and safe clinical application or equipment.
  • Maintain job knowledge and proficiency by participating in training sessions, education opportunities, studying manuals, and reading technical publications.
  • Perform other related duties as requested or assigned.
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively define problems, design data collection methodologies, distill data, reach conclusions, and organize findings is required.
  • Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by conducting safety tests, recommending and complying with procedures, as well as complying with federal, state, local and HIPPA regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal and listening skills are required, with ability to develop and maintain professional relationships within our consulting firm and with our customers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Word and Excel is required.
  • Working towards an Associate’s degree preferred
  • Graduate of the DoD Biomedical Equipment Technician school or a comparable equivalent school
  • A security clearance is required to obtain a Government CAC Card.
