Overview

This internship position requires research, analysis, and reporting to be carried out in regular weekly intervals during the school year, and is expected to be conducted at the intern's school environment.  No relocation is needed.  This is a part-time commitment of 8 work hours per week over a period of approximately 10 months, starting in January of 2018.

Responsibilities

 

  • Analyst will provide research support to projects, which may include database management and computer support. Research consists of reading, reviewing, analyzing for content and synopsizing and summarizing findings in written summaries per task leader direction.
  • The key elements of this position are an ability to perform basic literature review and synopsize findings; to formulate data needs, review available data sources, collect information, and report information in a structured format as requested. Most of the source material will be on the internet.
  • Analyst must be able to understand and remember technical details, such as differences between LIDAR sensors, RF and radar sensors, and record and understand performance parameters such as field of view, range, power rating, and measures of definition of imagery.
  • Perform editing, formatting, and proofreading of own work; make tables, figures, and graphics.
  • Respond to internal and external substantive questions and inquiries on assigned tasks and projects.
  • Give clear oral and written explanations of assigned tasks, relevant issues, analytic approach, and results.

Qualifications

  • Minimum requirement: a Bachelor’s degree with no experience, or an Associate degree with 2 years experience, or a High school degree or equivalent with 4 years relevant work experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to compose and write a variety of internal and external general business documents, reports, and presentations.
  • Strong interpersonal and listening skills.
  • Ability to contribute to a professional work environment by demonstrating integrity, promoting teamwork, and fostering positive communications. 
  • Strong time management, planning, and organizational skills essential.
  • Strong ability to prioritize projects and meet deadlines set by project leader.  Must be self-directed and detail oriented in completing assigned tasks and projects within assigned deadlines.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance may be required. Eligibility for a security clearance is required.
