Position is on the staff of a management consulting firm located in Tysons, VA firm specializing in government operations. The Senior Marine Corps Supply Chain and Logistics Subject Matter Expert (SME) will provide consulting and analytical support specifically related to logistics and supply chain management. The work will be performed at a Department of Defense (DoD) client site at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia.


  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Marine Corps supply chain and logistics policy in support of permanent Marine Corps staff at the Group level.
  • Act as GCSS-MC expert for the client and understand fielding challenges in remote, austere environments.
  • Analyze existing Marine Corps logistics policies and processes and help to develop potential bridging solutions or procedures to interface with an impending implementation of an external Integrated Logistics Management System.
  • Assist the permanent staff in increasing supply chain efficiencies that will provide greater visibility and accountability of equipment and supplies at remote sites.
  • Provide administrative and technical writing support for desk top procedures and standing operating procedures as necessary to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the unit’s supply and logistics operations.
  • Perform data analysis, develop briefings and papers for unit commanding officer and staff.
  • Analyze and assess logistics and supply chain policies and procedures against current performance metrics and make recommendations on policy and/or process improvements.
  • Communicate with clients through written reports and oral presentations.
  • Research subject matter and prepare point papers for use by command leadership. Produce charts and other presentation materials.


  • Undergraduate degree in business administration, supply chain management, or related discipline (preferred).
  • 15+ plus years’ experience in Marine Corps logistics and supply chain management (required). Prior military or DoD civilian/contractor experience (preferred).
  • Supply Analyst experience with the Field Supply Maintenance & Analysis Office (preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to use MS Office Suite to include Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Superior communication skills, both oral and written (required).
  • High energy, enthusiasm, tact, ability to effectively interact with senior executives from Government and industry as well as Marine Corps staff members.
  • Ability to create and foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Self-directed, detail oriented in completing assigned tasks, able to adapt to changing work efforts and manage impact of shifting priorities.
  • Availability for occasional travel.

Current active U.S. Government SECRET security clearance (required).
