    We are looking for a highly skilled Capture Manager to help grow our Federal business. LMI is a premier not-for-profit government consulting firm that specializes in providing acquisition, logistics, information technology, infrastructure, intelligence, human capital, and financial management consulting services.

    The Capture Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of capture management throughout the capture phase of the LMI business development lifecycle.  The Capture Manager develops and executes the capture plan for assigned bid opportunities; leads teaming strategy and teaming agreement negotiations; and develops, presents, and executes the win strategy for new and follow-on contract bids. (S)he reports ongoing capture status to senior leadership; identifies and assigns/recruits required key personnel; and works closely with the Service Delivery team to identify and develop the winning solution. The capture manager also coordinates with Business Development Leads and corporate support (Contracts, HR, Proposal Team, Pricing, and Facilities) for capture needs. Successful applicant will have the ability to create and execute strategies that lead to new business. The individual must have demonstrated experience managing all aspects of capture management to include proposal services, leading capture teams, managing budget, and general operational management.


    • Knows, applies, and promulgates effective capture management processes, as well as project management approaches and techniques
    • Works with proposal managers on large strategic opportunities; analyzes customers, competitors, internal capabilities; and develops win strategies
    • Leads development of management, technical and pricing solutions for strategic proposals
    • Negotiates and develops teaming arrangements with potential prime contractors or subcontractors, to include work share allocation and marketing arrangements
    • Presents or supports gate reviews to senior leadership to obtain bid resources and obtain management approval
    • Manages B&P budget for individual opportunities
    • Works closely with the proposal manager, technical lead, and executive management to ensure that the strategy, win themes, and discriminators are properly reflected in proposal
    • Coaches and mentors service delivery managers and program personnel in best practices for capture management
    • Anticipates and resolves procurement challenges and problems, such as small business set asides, certification requirements, and acquisition strategy/ vehicle selection



    • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, or a relevant discipline
    • 7+ years of experience in a professional organization focused on federal government consulting and sales or a related role
    • 5+ years of successful experience as a capture manager on large federal procurements
    • Proven experience in pursuing and capturing new federal business, including building and leveraging relationships, developing effective teaming and win strategies, and writing winning proposals
    • Strong market-focused experience, such as DOD, civilian, and/or homeland security are required
    • Experience and ability to think strategically to develop win strategies and lead capture teams to victory
    • Experience with industry and networks of relationships across businesses of varying sizes
    • Experience presenting to senior leadership and working as a member of diverse teams
    • Knowledge of the federal procurement process and acquisition environment
    • Demonstrated analytical abilities and sound decision-making in meeting business development objectives
    • Experience leading opportunities involving multiple teaming partners
    • Energetic, highly skilled, and well organized, with significant attention to detail
    • Strong communications and persuasive writing skills
    • Able to obtain security clearance, if required
    • Willing to work flexible schedule to meet deadlines
    • Experience with performance based contracting (PBC) & Price To Win (PTW) a plus
    • Experience or training in structured capture management and proposal development techniques (e.g., LCG, Shipley or SM&A) a plus
    • Program Management experience and a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification are highly desired
