Responsibilities

The candidate will be part of a team responsible for developing and supporting security documentation related to a networked system for a federal government customer. The candidate will support the creation of a valid System Security Plan (SSP) and all required components based on the latest SP800-53 version as outlined by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The candidate will meet with customer representatives and other contractor team members to collect relevant information for this activity and brief activity status on an ongoing basis.

Activities for this position will include supporting the creation of the following security documents:

  • System Security Plan (SSP)
  • Privacy Threshold Agreement (PTA)
  • Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA)
  • Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms)
  • Authority to Operate (ATO) Memorandum
  • Summary management briefing in support of ATO decision
  • System Interconnection documents where relevant (Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), Interconnection Security Agreements (ISA))
  • Incident Response Plan

Qualifications

  • 5 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related technical/scientific field
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification or Certified Authorization Professional (CAP)
  • Candidate will have to pass a government background investigation
  • Prior work supporting ATOs
  • Must have excellent reading, writing and speaking skills and be able to handle in-person interactions with team members and individuals from the customer’s team in a professional and respectful manner
  • Must work effectively within a team structure meeting project task requirements and client deliverables
  • Must be able to effectively plan tasks and work activities to complete work in timelines specified, communicate issues to team leadership in a timely manner or where assistance is needed and support team lead development of milestone status reports and presentations where necessary
