Overview

LMI, a not-for-profit government consulting firm dedicated to advancing the management of the government, is looking for a Internal Communications Lead to join the Corporate Communications Group. 

The Internal Communications Lead will be an integral member of LMI’s Corporate Communications team, working between HR, senior leadership, technology services, and other stakeholders to plan, write, prep, and execute internal communications and initiatives. This self-starting, team-oriented communications expert will work closely with graphics professionals, editors, and digital experts to bring LMI employees clear, crisp, and compelling experiences across all internal channels.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manages all internal communications campaigns, initiatives, and day-to-day operations to inform, inspire, and connect employees across an increasingly dispersed workforce.
  • Serves as an internal brand journalist and project manager with a passion for change management, turning complex ideas into understandable and actionable concepts.
  • Thinks strategically to create company-wide plans for leadership communications, policy announcements, and strategic initiatives.
  • Shows commitment to transparency and delivers content that increases engagement.
  • Works with stakeholders across the company to manage planning and implementation of internal communications.
  • Produces, edits, publishes, and maintains a weekly internal newsletter.
  • Assists in the strategy, UX, design, and overall management of intranet communications (via SharePoint).
  • Establishes procedures and metrics to assess and improve the effectiveness of internal communication vehicles to help LMI advance its business goals.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work with and learn new technologies quickly.
  • Contributes as a critical part of the Corporate Communications team to source stories, create content, and elevate subject matter experts in the field.
  • Manages corporate events (town halls, livestreams, etc.).

Qualifications

  • Integration of long-term strategic goals with internal communications plans in companies with dispersed employees.
  • Knowledge of communication platforms, including email marketing (Salesforce Marketing Cloud), print, video, podcasts, and intranet.
  • Fluency with Microsoft tools and programs, including Excel and SharePoint.
  • Comfort with HTML and Adobe Photoshop/Web Design.
  • Transformation of complicated or elaborate communication into coherent, engaging, and accurate communications for a variety of audiences.
  • Strong time management and project management skills.
  • Ability to work with senior leaders and consulting staff effectively to produce timely and thoughtful communications.
  • A consultative mindset and ability to build relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, organizational psychology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of communications experience.
