    The position is on the staff of a private, not-for-profit government consulting firm headquartered in McLean, VA.     Responsibilities

    • Distributed systems architecture, engineering, and software development
    • Fluency with programming languages such as Java, Python, Ruby, and node.js as well as shell scripting languages
    • Agile methodology utilizing test driven development
    • Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) Tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo, or equivalent
    • Repository Solutions such as Nexus, Artifactory, or equivalent
    • Source Code Management with Git and usage of GitLab
    • Build Tools such as Gradle and Maven
    • Core understanding of various stages in the software development lifecycle: development, test, pre-production, production, etc.
    • Core understanding of the disciplines of IT operations including monitoring, support, problem determination
    • Configuration management and supporting tools (such as Puppet, Chef, SaltStack, Ansible)
    • Experience with cloud service providers such as Amazon Web Services, Rackspace, or Microsoft Azure
    • Ability to astutely operate in the organization: well respected and influential, able to emphasize methodology, modeling, and governance, technologically and politically neutral, articulate, persuasive, and enthusiastic.
    • Ability to diagnose complex systems issues with multiple influencing factors and to respond quickly and effectively and take responsibility for seeing those issues through resolution
    • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
    • Leadership skills and effectively collaborate and communicate with immediate team members
    • Ability to work with minimal or no supervision on multiple concurrent complex projects

    Qualifications

    • DevOps in a Cloud environment
    • Experience in cloud native application development
    • Container management and deployment, particularly using docker
    • System Administration in Linux and Windows Environments
