    LMI’s business communications lead is an expert project manager, people leader, team player, and government marketing strategist. A storyteller with experience converting complex ideas into easily understood content, this lead will bring our target audiences crisp, consistent, compelling experiences across our channels. Successful candidates will know the business of government, and oversee the day-to-day management of LMI’s brand.


    • Oversees marketing project managers to maintain an integrated communications strategy aligned with LMI’s mission and business priorities.
    • Develops and executes communications plans in partnership with creative, editorial, digital, and marketing leads.
    • Represents LMI as a media relations resource and strategic communicator, supporting leadership, divisions, and strategic engagements.
    • Develops and maintains strong relationships with key external stakeholders, partners, experts, industry members, and prospects
    • Conducts public outreach and develops a thought leadership platform to support LMI’s purpose and point of view, leveraging internal resources such as experts, the LMI Research Institute, and our university partnerships.
    • Consults with market and service line leads to develop annual activity plans to maximize efficacy of corporate association memberships
    • Improves customer service for clients
    • Executes LMI’s corporate citizenship portfolio and programs
    • Works with peers to develop and maintain a data-driven performance and listening dashboard
    • Provides training, support, and stretch opportunities to a team of communications professionals. Responsible for career development and achievements.
    • Leads special projects to improve communications processes and outputs.


    • Exceptional verbal, interpersonal, and written communications skills, with keen attention to detail.
    • Understanding of, and enthusiasm about, growing LMI’s core business through communications and marketing.
    • Understanding of policy and program management issues facing the federal government and military.
    • Proven ability to build and cultivate key relationships with business partners and work effectively in a cross-functional, geographically dispersed, matrixed organization.
    • Government contracting experience and knowledge of current communications trends. Ability to adapt to changes within the federal marketing space.
    • Extremely reliable, accountable, and flexible.
    • Works well as a member of a flat team and independently, with genuine interest in collaboration and creative development.
    • Strong time, people, and project management skills. PMP certification preferred.
    • Transformation of complicated or elaborate communication into coherent, engaging, and accurate communications for a variety of audiences.
    • Ability to work with senior leaders and consulting staff members effectively to produce timely and thoughtful communications.
    • Advanced degree in communications, public policy, or a related field.
    • 5+ years of project management experience.
    • Fluency with Microsoft tools and programs, including Excel and SharePoint.
