    LMI, a not-for-profit government consulting firm, is seeking a seasoned management consultant for the Organizational & Human Capital Solutions Group.  Candidates must be able to lead projects, build client relationships, and pass background checks and/or obtain a security clearance if needed.

    Responsibilities

    The senior management consultant leads and supports a variety of projects in strategy, business or organizational assessment, workforce assessment and human capital management, process improvement, change management and communications, or program support. The primary focus of the work is strategizing, designing, planning, and implementing solutions that move federal government clients forward to achieve their mission priorities. Project work can include organizational transformation efforts that range from strategic planning to tactical implementation and a variety of product development (such as briefings, reports, plans and road maps, dashboards and other quantitative results displays, multimedia products, and others).  Activities include:

     

    • Managing and leading projects to provide solutions and services to federal government client challenges. Specifically, supporting initiatives, programs, and projects across the federal government.
    • Designing, developing, and implementing technical solutions based on subject matter expertise, best practices, data and evidence, and the client’s operating context. Overseeing teams to develop strategies and plans, develop high-quality project deliverables, conduct accurate and insightful analysis, and respond to client requests.
    • Building and managing client relationships.
    • Developing and implementing project approaches and study plans. Collecting a variety of qualitative and quantitative information, analyzing it using appropriate methods and frameworks, and communicating results in concise and compelling ways to decision makers.
    • Leading research projects, capability development efforts, and innovation efforts.
    • Leading project management, quality management, planning, and communication activities.

    Qualifications

      • Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of work experience, or master’s degree with 10+ years of work experience
      • Significant understanding of project management fundamentals and ability to work within project constraints
      • Ability to navigate complex organizations and to work, at times, with multiple ambiguous projects
      • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and presentation skills
      • Excellent customer relationship management skills
      • Ability to lead teams
      • Ability to develop a variety of written and presentation-based work products and deliverables
      • Ability to travel to and work on client sites as needed
      • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint
      • Significant subject matter expertise and experience in at least one area of project support (strategy, business or organizational assessment, workforce assessment and human capital management, process improvement, change management and communications, or program support).
      • Desire and willingness to advance thought leadership for LMI, innovative solutions for LMI’s clients, and mentorship for LMI’s consulting staff

       

      PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:         

      • Project Management Professional certification
      • Other relevant industry certifications (such as Lean Six Sigma, Certified Senior Professional in HR, and others)
      • Management consulting experience
      • Experience with specific tools and methods for project management, data analysis, business analysis, and/or strategic communications and multimedia

       

      Security Clearance Statement:

      Applicants selected for this position could be subject to a government security investigation and must be able to meet security requirements. An active security clearance is preferred for this position.
