Position is on the staff of a government consulting firm headquartered in Tysons, VA.  The SAAS MS Azure System Engineer will work on-site at client organization located in Fort Lee, VA for the Product Lead, Logistics Information System (PL LIS). The MS Azure System Engineer will support the configuration, implementation, and maintenance of the SAAS Ammunition system as it moves into a Cloud computing environment.  This position will be located full time at client site.


Required Proven Experience:

  • Configuring, deploying, and managing a Department of Army system in Microsoft’s DoD L4/L5 Azure Cloud using Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS).
  • Deploying Microsoft Azure Resources using PowerShell and Azure templates.
  • DISA CAP approval and implemented to include: creating and submitting the DISA CAP package, getting IP subnet assignment from NIC.mil, and configuring the Express Route within Microsoft Azure.
  • In depth knowledge and experience with enterprise scale Windows technologies such as Server platforms, Desktop platforms, Exchange Environments, Active Directory, IIS, Windows Clustering, Virtualization and Collaboration tools is required.
  • Expert in Windows Server administration and Virtual environment administration.
  • Perform systems backups and recovery procedures.
  • Perform routine maintenance and upgrades for IT infrastructure
  • Develop, document and maintain standard operating procedures and configuration
  • Disaster Recovery configuration and management experience
  • Prepare and deliver briefings as appropriate to all levels of the organization and senior leadership.

Desired Proven Experience:

  • Creating and managing Continuous Integration (CI) / Continuous Delivery (CD) pipelines using Team Foundation Server (TFS) and Visual Studio Team Services (VSTS).
  • Developing, branching & merging, and managing ASP.Net solutions in Visual Studio (2015 or newer) and TFS.
  • Experience in eMass and in obtaining a Risk Management Framework (RMF) Authority to Operate (ATO) for a Department of Army system in a virtual environment.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology Management or related field, Master’s Degree preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience implementing and supporting Department of the Army systems in Cloud environments.
  • CISSP certification or equivalent certification desired.
  • Certified as a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE).
  • Experience with DoD and Army Regulations, Directives, Instructions and Policies.
  • Possess communication skills to interact with team members, customers, and support personnel.
  • Possess analytical and problem solving skills to resolve technological problems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be available for travel – less than 25%.
  • US citizenship and must currently have a Secret clearance.
