    Position is on the staff of a management consulting firm located in Tysons, VA firm specializing in government operations. The Medical Logistics Class VIIIA SME will provide consulting, management and analytical support specifically related to government clients to include Headquarters Marine Corps Installations and Logistics (HQMC I&L) Supply Policies and Capabilities (LPC-2). The work will be performed remotely with occasional visits the client’s facility in Arlington, VA.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide strategic management support to the HQMC Medical Logistics Officer for effective oversight and management of U.S. Marine Corps Class VIIIA Requirements. Class VIIIA refers to all medications, medical consumable items, major and minor pieces of equipment, and repair parts peculiar to medical equipment organized into Authorized Medical Allowance List (AMAL) or Authorized Dental Allowance List (ADAL) blocks and medical kits according to unit mission requirements.
    • Support the HQMC Medical Logistics Officer to develop, publish, and maintain policy and directives for effective management of Class VIIIA materiel maintained at each of the Medical Logistics Companies (MEDLOGCOs), Blount Island Command (BIC), Marine Corps Pre-Positioning-Norway (MCPP-N), and Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) for issue to Health Service Support (HSS) elements in support of Marine Operational Forces.
    • Analyze existing Class VIIIA policies and make change recommendations to HQMC Medical Logistics Officer to ensure enhanced ready-to-issue posture of Class VIIIA materiel, reduce the logistical burden on the Operating Forces in garrison, provide enterprise-wide visibility and accountability, maintain shelf-life standards to reduce losses from expiry, and reduce overall procurement and replacement costs.
    • Develop and maintain a communications plan utilizing multi-media and optimal outlets for distributing materials and providing current and relevant information concerning GCSS-MC, DMLSS, and related logistics issues as necessary.
    • Provide subject matter expertise and advice to HQMC Medical Logistics Officer on Class VIIIA matters to ensure effective management, selection criteria, requirements determination, sourcing, positioning, acquisition, and distribution of Class VIIIA materiel support for the logistics requirements of the Marine Operational Forces.
    • Manage the Total Life Cycle Sustainment (TLCS) plans for all Authorized Medical and Dental Allowance Lists (AMAL/ADAL) issued to MARFORs and BIC in order to support both training requirements and contingency operations. Additionally, the Contractor must provide SME research, analysis, and recommendations on the development of training plans for new Medical Logistics Company Commanders and contractors assigned to MEDLOGCOs and BIC.
    • Pull DMLSS Class VIIIA readiness reports in order to provide analysis on readiness history, current readiness posture, and provide recommendations on business processes to enhance readiness.
    • Underwrite Field Supply & Maintenance Analysis Office (FSMAO) Analysis results and periodically refine the Compliance Checklist as required in order to support accountability, material readiness, and auditability within the MEDLOGCOs and the BIC.
    • Support the HQMC Medical Logistics Officer in providing technical expertise and recommendations for the development or modification of policy for medical logistics to include procurement, initial issue, management, resupply, and disposition of materiel required to support medical and dental elements organic to the Marine Operational Forces.
    • Plan, research, and perform data analysis in order to develop briefing slides in support of bi-annual Marine Expeditionary Force Class VIIIA Inventory Stocking Level (ISL) workshops, Pre-positioning Conferences, Annual Health Services Operational Advisory Group (HSOAG), and bi-annual FSMAO Analysis visits.

    Qualifications

    • M.A. or M.S. in any field, that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following fields: accounting, business, contracts, economics, finance, industrial management, logistics management, marketing, project management, purchasing, quantitative methods, supply chain management, or organization and management.
    • 15 or more years of demonstrated experience in Department of Defense logistics management with at least 10 years of experience in Marine Corps logistics management.
    • Demonstrated ability to use MS Office Suite to include Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Excel. Ability to use data base and statistical software is a plus.
    • Superior communication skills, both oral and written (required).
    • High energy, enthusiasm, tact, ability to effectively interact with senior executives from Government and industry as well as Pentagon staff members.
    • Ability to create and foster a cooperative work environment.
    • Self-directed, detail oriented in completing assigned tasks, able to adapt to changing work efforts and manage impact of shifting priorities.
    • Availability for occasional travel.
    • Current active SECRET clearance.
