  • Overview

    This position is on the consulting staff of a government consulting firm headquartered in Tysons, VA.   The position would be in direct support of Program Executive Office (PEO) Enterprise Information Systems (EIS) Strategic Initiatives Group (SIG). Work location is on-site at Fort Belvoir, Virginia.

    Responsibilities

    Serves as the Technical Architect supporting the Government PM, with expertise to help define, establish, and evolve its overall architecture solution. The technical architect will engage stakeholders and team members to solve various complex challenges across the enterprise. Resource should leverage familiarity with continually modernizing technologies to improve performance and productivity, uses broad software, data and expertise while skillful at assessing business needs, researching, evaluating, and recommending solutions. Knowledgeable and experienced with the latest technical frameworks and architectures, adept at working with subject matter experts across the organization, a strong communicator whom can document and communicate plans and strategies.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Identifying the missions overall technical needs
    • Working across a variety of projects to compose technical plans to support successful project endeavors
    • Decomposing large scale projects into manageable technical components
    • Working closely with data architects to map future-state architectures
    • Research, analyzing and documenting the benefits of various technical approaches
    • Helping align technology strategies that support business initiatives and goals
    • Producing documents that rationalize technical plans with overall agreed upon roadmaps, capture technical considerations and design decisions
    • Convey the technical architecture for evaluation and consumption by both management and technical teams
    • Help enable smooth transitions into fully operational projects/programs.

    Qualifications

    Education: Bachelor's degree and previous experience in a technical field with a minimum of 10 years of relevant IT experience and education on current technologies.

     

    Experience: Well-round experience across a variety of technical disciplines, proven experience and expertise as a technical architect, software or systems development lead, or Technical PM. Hands-on experience with software development and system administration, an understanding of data architecture and strategic software and technology solutions. Familiarity with Java, .NET platforms, Red Hat middleware solutions and experience with cloud technologies is preferred.

     

    Clearance: Must have a fully adjudicated SECRET clearance at contract award.
