    Position is on the research staff of a private, not-for-profit government consulting firm located in McLean, VA. Work will be at client location in Crystal City, VA. Current Department of Defense security clearance required. 

    Responsibilities

    Provide General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS) incident and problem management activities that include, but are not limited to the following:

    1. Manage daily the GFEBS SI and datacenter administrators are complying with GFEBS technical processes in the administration of GFEBS.

     

    1. Review outage reports from GFEBS Systems Integrator (SI) for accuracy and completeness, as they work to maintain GFEBS system availability for 35,000 users. Objective is 99.94%.

     

    1. Oversee implementation of system components into production such as promoting SAP Business Objects Enterprise (BOE) into production to accommodate increasing numbers of users, processes growing volumes of information, and scales to maintaining high performance.

     

    1. Manage and coordinate Data Center administrators and SME's to resolve system issues and network connectivity issues as they occur. Objective is within 24 hrs.

     

    1. Oversee all, operational related technical changes implemented in the GFEBS Systems (Production & Secondary Sites).

     

    1. Lead and coordinate the SI teams in efforts troubleshooting for users such as DFAS, Army Budget Office (ABO), PEO Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (STRI) to discover any network related issue existing between the client site and host site which involved NETCOM, CONUS-Theater Network Operations and Security Center (C-TNOSC), Redstone Regional Network Enterprise Center (R-NEC), Joint Regional Security Stack (JRSS), Pentagon, and GFEBS technical team.

     

    1. Lead efforts on Disaster Recovery (DR) to ensure continuity of operations. Lead Disaster Recovery (DR) test annually, provide after action reports and update documentation and processes for DR as needed.

     

    1. Lead Data Center activities and prioritization, Act as the single PMO point of contact for ALTESS and Redstone daily operations.

     

    1. Support SI and SME's in resolve login issues for GFEBS users and support contractors.
    2. Oversee Global Content Delivery Services (GCDS)/Akamai for GFEBS Enterprise Central Component (ECC) systems.

     

    1. Oversee SI and datacenter maintenance of 27 support systems such as Remedy Analytics, GRC, Control-M, etc.

     

    1. Facilitates a team of personnel who perform the role of primary Incident Management for all incident response and restoration requiring focused response, investigation, and remediation.
    • Ensures assigned personnel follow the appropriate incident escalation and reporting procedures; coordinate response action to identified incidents
    • Recommends a course of action on each incident and create, manage, and ensure all actions taken are recorded and serve as initial POC for Events of Interest reported both internally and externally
    • Provides support promptly and efficiently through troubleshooting conference bridges and email communications. 

    13. Support Management point of contact for critical communications and support escalations, reconcile issues and implement improvements in existing process and procedures where necessary.

     

    14. Ensure that appropriate government management personnel are notified of critical incidents and the progress being made to restore service. Provide ad hoc briefs to government management/leadership personnel on the status of critical infrastructure degradations and outages.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Minimum 7 years’ experience in IT infrastructure management
    • Experience and proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, Word), SharePoint, Defense Connect Online (DCO)
    • US citizen with a Secret clearance required
    • ITIL v3 Certification, highly preferred the certification be in Incident or Problem Management, or PMP

    Not required but preferred: CompTIA Project+ certification
