  • Overview

    A management consulting company headquartered in McLean, Virginia seeks a junior test engineer for work to be performed at Scott AFB, IL. This position supports test related development and sustainment functions for United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) systems. The offer of employment is contingent upon contract award.

    Responsibilities

    Performs analysis of documented user requirements and directs or assists in the design of test plans in support of user requirements for moderately complex to complex software/hardware applications. Reviews user application system requirements documentation; designs, defines and documents unit and application test plans; transforms test plans into test scripts and executes those scripts. Responsible for ensuring proper execution of test scripts and documentation of test results in test logs or defect tracking systems. Responsible for ensuring that the test designs and documentation support all applicable client, agency or industry standards, time lines and budgets.

     

    SPECIFIC DUTIES

    • Evaluates, recommends, and implements automated test tools and strategies.
    • Designs, implements, and conducts test and evaluation procedures to ensure system requirements are met.
    • Develops, maintains, and upgrades automated test scripts and architectures for application products. Also writes, implements, and reports status for system test cases for testing. Analyzes test cases and provides regular progress reports.
    • Participates in all phases of risk management assessments and software/hardware development with emphasis on analysis of user requirements, test design and test tools selection.
    • Serves as subject matter specialist providing testing know-how for the support of user requirements of complex to highly complex software/hardware applications.
    • Develops test data to be used in performing required tests.
    • Assists in the analysis of test results, documents conclusions and makes recommendations based on those conclusions.
    • Supports Test Driven Develop (TDD) in an agile software development environment
    • Writes acceptance test plans and assists in integrating into automated testing scripts as part of a continuous build, test and integration environment.
    • Documents and maintains findings in an error tracking DB designated by the Government and update the Government trouble ticket system (i.e., Remedy, Siebel or other industry standard)

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
    • Understanding of testing in an agile software development environment
    • Possess a Security+ CE (CompTIA) certification
    • Selected applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must be able to attain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Only U.S. Citizens are eligible for a security clearance. For this position, LMI will only consider applicants with security clearances or applicants who are eligible for security clearances.
    • Applicants must be capable of performing travel requirements as needed.
    • DoD Secret Clearance required
