    LMI seeks mid-level real estate specialists to offer guidance and resolve complex real estate issues to support a federal program management office in Northern Virginia. Join our team of collaborative self-starters focused on delivering practical and efficient solutions to help our client keep U.S. borders safe and facilitate trade and travel. As part of our high-performing team, you will augment our vital work to provide “eyes and ears” technology to protect our nation. Travel will be required once or twice a month to stations on the southwest and other borders.


    You will conduct a wide range of real estate actions, such as acquisition, permitting, and licensing in support of new construction and maintenance and repair of our client’s communication, sensor, and surveillance systems and their supporting infrastructure. You will help our client manage its real estate portfolio. This entails evaluating client requirements and identifying and executing real estate requirements. You will assist with negotiations for land-use agreements such as licenses from private landowners and permits from other government agencies. In addition, you will support meetings to develop and execute appropriate real estate strategies. Specific responsibilities:

    • Develop project requirements documents and project management plans for real estate actions on large projects
    • Prepare decision briefs and appropriate real estate documents
    • Estimate costs and produce schedules
    • Work closely with stakeholders to secure deeded ownership interests in and contractual rights and permissions to use targeted properties, including fee and easement acquisition, rights of entry, license agreements, leases, and other types of real estate clearance instruments


    • Ability to pass a government background investigation, including financial, criminal, residential, educational, foreign affiliation, prohibited substance use, and employment verifications; active U.S. Customs and Border Protection background investigation preferred. Please note that only U.S. citizens are eligible for a suitability determination.
    • Previous work with CBP’s Integrated Fixed Tower (IFT), Remove Video Surveillance Systems (RVSS), Mobile and Agent-Centric Systems (MACS), or Field Surveillance Services (FSS) portfolios is a plus.
    • 3–10 years of experience and a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, real estate management, or a related discipline.
    • Experience providing real estate services including real estate acquisition strategy and planning.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint; Adobe Acrobat Pro; and Google Earth.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
    • Ability to communicate clearly with a variety of stakeholders.
    • Ability to effectively solve problems.
    • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
    • A true team player who maintains a positive attitude in a dynamic environment.
