    LMI seeks a senior quality control specialist to support a federal program management office in Northern Virginia. Join our team of collaborative self-starters focused on delivering practical and efficient solutions to help our client keep U.S. borders safe and facilitate travel and trade. As part of our high-performing team, you will augment our vital work to provide “eyes and ears” technology to protect our nation.

    Responsibilities

    You will serve as the lead for managing and reporting on quality for all of our client’s portfolios. Each portfolio comprises projects that acquire and maintain technology, including communications, sensor, and surveillance systems and the infrastructure that supports them. You will develop practical metrics that identify pain points impeding the ability to achieve the strategic plan and opportunities to improve, and then track performance against them for rapid assessment of operations and issues to inform management decision-making. Representative responsibilities:

    • Lead the management of and reporting on quality
    • Develop quality metrics, track them, and provide quality reports
    • Perform quality reviews and performance management
    • Develop portfolio-level Quality Control Plans (QCP)
    • Guide project teams in developing project-level Quality Control Plans
    • Brief leadership on quality results
    • Train PMO staff on quality processes

    Qualifications

    • Ability to pass a government background investigation, including financial, criminal, residential, educational, foreign affiliation, prohibited substance abuse, and employment verifications; active U.S. Customs and Border Protection background investigation preferred. Please note that only U.S. citizens are eligible for a suitability determination.
    • Previous work with CBP’s Integrated Fixed Tower (IFT), Remove Video Surveillance Systems (RVSS), Mobile and Agent-Centric Systems (MACS), or Field Surveillance Services (FSS) portfolios is a plus.
    • 10+ years of experience and a Master’s degree in business or management; or 12+ years of experience and a Bachelor’s degree.
    • Experience with applying industry standards (CMMI, ISO, PMBOK, IEEE) and best practices is desired.
    • PMI-certified Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus.
    • 2+ years of experience performing quality control and managing risks for complex development programs.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
    • Ability to communicate clearly with a variety of stakeholders.
    • Ability to effectively solve problems.
    • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
    • A true team player who maintains a positive attitude in a dynamic environment.
