    LMI seeks a mid-expert level strategic communicator to support a federal talent management center in Northern Virginia. Join our team of collaborative self-starters focused on advising senior leaders on communications strategies and delivering targeted, effective messages to affect organizational change and support employees’ professional development. As part of our high-performing team, you will augment our vital work to support a national security mission.


    You will work on a communications team to provide executive-level support to the center’s senior leadership and sub offices as well as deliver communications strategies and services to the general workforce. You will help convey the center’s strategic priorities to a wide range of audiences, as well as execute communications plans for operational initiatives. Your responsibilities include:

    • Implement the center’s high-level strategic communications plan and messaging schedule.
    • Maintain the center’s brand and integrate it into communications vehicles.
    • Oversee the maintenance of the center’s web presence, in partnership with a web developer.
    • Produce and edit content for a variety of vehicles, including news articles, targeted email messages, websites, printed marketing materials, and videos.
    • Assist in the preparation of the weekly newsletter.
    • Assist in reviewing communications plans for a variety of office initiatives.
    • Assist with tracking and compiling metrics for a monthly report to senior leaders to convey the effectiveness of communications and outreach.


    • Active TS/SCI w/Polygraph.
    • 3–10 years of experience and a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in communications, English, or a related discipline.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
    • Ability to communicate clearly with a variety of stakeholders and senior leaders.
    • Ability to effectively solve problems.
    • Excellent writing, editing, and briefing skills.
    • Experience in developing strategic messages for a variety of audiences.
    • Ability to transform technical content into easily used and understandable format.
    • Experience in web content creation and management (familiarity with or an ability to learn WordPress is preferred).
    • Experience establishing and advancing branding.
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively in a dynamic team environment.
    • Demonstrated ability to balance multiple tasks, competing priorities, and short deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
