    Responsibilities

    • Position is for an Information Technology (IT) candidate to manage enterprise software and custom web applications in a diverse, mission critical hosting infrastructure.
    • The successful candidate will perform duties on a wide range of mission-critical systems, supporting Windows-based web server installations, configurations, patch management, SQL Server database and application software monitoring solutions.
    • The candidate will provide technical support for a wide array of users, including a team of software developers. The candidate will assume ownership of technical projects and will work with other members of LMI’s IT Service Center to bring projects to completion.
    • The candidate will support the software release management function, ensuring that software created in a development environment is migrated properly to test and production platforms.
    • This position will play a key role in the management and movement of data between clients, partners and LMI. The candidate will support the production critical data management, Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) processes and data quality validation. Candidate will also perform software release management function, ensuring that software created in a development environment is migrated properly to test and production platforms.
    • The candidate must be able to troubleshoot independently and present a well-defined solution to the larger group. A broad skill-set will be needed to succeed in this diverse environment. This is a hands-on position and the candidate will be expected to provide support during all project phases.
    • The candidate must be able to thrive in a high-paced, high-pressure environment, while providing systems support to internal engineering and QA teams as well as external customers.

     

    Qualifications

    PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential Job Functions)

    • Reports directly to the Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) Client Systems Manager and interfaces with all levels of ETS team members and management
    • Participate as a member of the technical team to implement the technology vision, strategies and priorities of the organization
    • Responsible for managing major portions of the IT Service Center’s production, test and development infrastructure
    • Provide technical input for, and assist in the maintenance of, departmental documentation relating to system administration policies and procedures
    • Work with software engineering and quality assurance teams to set up new environments and ensure optimal operation of existing environments
    • Work with database systems to securely connect web applications to enterprise databases
    • Work with users to resolve system issues
    • Support the software deployment and release processes
    • Promote and follow best practices and implement effective processes to insure reliable, high-quality IT service delivery
    • Perform impact/risk assessments for requested upgrades
    • Maintain documentation and procedures to ensure adherence to corporate, federal and DoD policies and regulations

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Knowledge of Microsoft Server platform.
    • Proven experience with Windows operating systems and MS SQL Server administration, certification preferred
    • Knowledge of Microsoft software development tools and Internet Information Server (IIS) required, certification in any Microsoft technical discipline very desirable
    • Experience designing, developing and maintaining ETL processes
    • Proven experience in configuring and administering 3rd party tools on Microsoft operating systems
    • Demonstrated knowledge of basic security principles related to network operations and file server security
    • Experience supporting hosted database enabled web applications desirable
    • Bachelor’s degree in information systems management, computer science, or related disciplines preferred
    • 7+ years of experience in information technology supporting hosted database enabled web applications
    • Must be able to effectively manage simultaneous tasks on several projects with independent deadlines and deliverables
    • Experience working in heterogeneous environments including Linux, UNIX and Windows servers
    • Experience with scripting and object-oriented programs (ie – PowerShell, Visual Basic, .NET, bash, Perl, Java, and other technologies)
    • Detailed knowledge of networking and related facility dependencies
    • Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance
    • Knowledge of ITIL version 3, certification desirable
    • Experience working in multiple environments (development, test, and production).

    • Must be self-directed and a team player
