    This position is on the consulting staff of a government consulting firm headquartered in Tysons, VA. LMI is seeking candidates to support our clients in various locations, to include: Washington D.C, Dayton, OH, San Antonio, TX, and Oklahoma City, OK.






    As part of a team of consultants supporting the Air Force, this position will act as a lead in the development and execution of the Category Management strategy and business intelligence services. This lead works with the client stakeholders, providing guidance in the development of category management strategies related to IT services, Professional Services, Facilities, Industrial Products and Services, Transportation and Logistics. Assist the acquisition strategy development process by recommending and analyzing various acquisition options or alternatives.  Responsible for developing and executing market research, analysis of alternatives, independent cost estimates, and writing strategy and/or acquisition documentation. Use data sources to identify programmatic needs. Provide financial and operational execution analysis, research, recommendation, and costed options for impacts and financial changes that result from operational planning changes. Provide cost comparison and economic analysis (EA) in discussion and for inclusion and consideration at decision points.


    Conduct analyses of alternatives (AOA) and business case analyses (BCA). Participate in strategic planning with regards to program development. Assist with program assessments ensuring programmatic goals are well documented. Support preparation of Requests for Information, Requests For Proposal (RFP) in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. Assist with evaluation of acquisition landscape, data collection and analysis, metrics development, strategic alignment and development. 



    • Bachelor’s degree
    • A verifiable history of a minimum of 7 years of federal management consulting, to include Federal acquisition experience, 10 years preferred
    • DoD Secret Clearance required
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to compose and write a variety of internal and external general business documents, reports, and presentations.
    • Strong interpersonal and listening skills; ability to develop and maintain professional relationships within LMI and with its clients.
    • Ability to contribute to a professional work environment by demonstrating integrity, promoting teamwork, and fostering positive communications. 
    • Strong time management, planning, and organizational skills essential.
    • Strong ability to prioritize projects and meet deadlines set by project leader.  Must be self-directed and detail oriented in completing assigned tasks and projects within assigned deadlines.
    • In-depth working knowledge of federal procurement regulations and policies.
    • The candidate must have experience and knowledge of "cradle-to-grave" acquisition functions (i.e., from pre award, to post-award, through final contract termination/close-out).
    • Must be available for occasional travel.
    • Extensive knowledge of the Air Force.
    • Ability to successfully perform in a team-based environment.
    • Ability to influence and guide a diverse set of stakeholders.
    • Organized and focused on details.
    • Proven experience in conducting market research, and deep subject matter expertise in one or more Category Management areas.
    • Ability to identify, leverage shared best practices; to include but not limited to acquisition, strategic sourcing, supply and demand management solutions
    • Proven experience in developing acquisition strategies for the Federal government.
