  • Overview

    This individual will be responsible for a wide range of analysis and implementation activities related to the client’s environmental program. The environmental subject matter expert (SME) will provide “full-time” support to a federal agency’s real property program management office located in Washington, DC, Euless, TX, Indianapolis, IN, and Laguna, CA.

    Responsibilities

    This position will serve as an environmental compliance specialist responsible for assisting a federal agency execute their environmental program and help comply with environmental laws and regulations, such as the Clean Air Act (CAA), Clean Water Act (CWA), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Endangered Species Act (ESA), National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). The specialist shall have strong communication skills, a demonstrated ability to deliver “innovative solutions”, sound understanding of environmental laws and processes, and possess the skill of “creative problem solving”.

    Qualifications

    • 8+ years’ experience in environmental compliance and planning.
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively work in both a team environment and an independent setting.
    • Experience in one or more of the following areas:
      • CAA
      • CWA
      • RCRA
      • NEPA
      • NHPA
      • ESA
      • Development and implementation of environmental-related training programs
    • Familiarity in one or more of the following areas:
      • MSOutlook, MSWord, MSExcel, MSPowerPoint, and ArcGIS
    • Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a comprehensive government security investigation must meet eligibility requirements for access to sensitive information. The background investigation includes financial, criminal, residential, educational, foreign affiliation, and employment verifications.
    • BS in environmental science, biology, environmental engineering, or related discipline.
    • Moderate travel will be required.
