    Position is on the staff of a management-consulting firm located in Tysons, VA firm specializing in government operations. The Senior Logistics Consultant/Advisor duties will be performed at a client site in the Washington, DC area.

    Responsibilities

    • Performs support to the agency’s Total Asset Management (TAM) program and policies that meet the federal audit requirements to include Property, Plant, and Equipment (PP&E).
    • Researches issues and develops options with associated cost efficiencies and operational effectiveness ratings. This work could entail using analytical models and conceptual techniques to assess logistics and property management life cycle functions.
    • Develop Agency-level logistics policies and processes for personal and real property management.
    • Ability to provide property management technical training support, specifically with developing, facilitating and instructing property management processes, internal controls and role-based training to the workforce.
    • Execute logistics support activities (e.g., supply chain management, inventory management, auditable accountable property records management, contract property administration, government property disposal, cost analysis, asset management, and fleet management).
    • Monitor and manage agency property accountability programs IAW DODI 5000.64, “Accountability and Management of DOD Equipment and Other Accountable Property”; NARI 4160.1, “Accountable and Management of Property, Plant, Equipment, and Other Accountable Property”; applicable government property clauses in the FAR, DFAR, and NARI; and applicable TAM standard operating procedures and user guides.
    • Knowledge of ASTM E-53 Committee Standards on Property Management.
    • The ability to work with technical and non-technical personnel is important for obtaining insight into operational logistics problems and identifying potential solutions.
    • Communicate with clients through written reports and oral presentations.

    Qualifications

    • Current U.S. Government TS/SCI security clearance is required. CI Poly is preferred.
    • Bachelor's degree.
    • 15 or more years of relevant work experience.    
    • Must be self-directed and detail oriented.    
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
