    Opening is for mid-level consultant on the staff of a not-for-profit, government management consulting organization headquartered in Tysons, Virginia. This position will support our Defense Logistics Agency Major Subordinate Command (MSC) clients at locations in Richmond, VA (DLA Aviation), Columbus, OH (DLA Land & Maritime), and Philadelphia, PA (DLA Troop Support). Top candidates will have a record of performance leading teams on multiple, concurrent efforts and develop and deliver implementable solutions in fast-paced, deadline driven environments.

    The candidate selected will provide consulting support services in the areas of logistics life-cycle support/sustainment, readiness, and sustainment policy and process; acquisition and procurement policy; process improvement and change management; program management support; and other related activities. Experience supporting major acquisition programs is a plus.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Manage execution of support to the DLA Major Subordinate Command (MSC) located at and maintain an excellent client relationship with government and other contractor personnel
    • Lead/Assist customer develop strategies allowing DLA MSCs identify, plan for, and begin acquisition of material to support an upcoming major acquisition program transitioning from contractor logistics support to organic support
    • Develop and execute methodologies allowing DLA to execute consumable item management and execution in support of a major acquisition program.
    • Support/participate in customer sponsored Working Groups/Tiger Teams required to coordinate with organizations both internal and external to DLA to facilitate DLA support.
    • Brief client and DLA Senior Leadership as required
    • Create briefings, reports, action plans, and other products based on client input for use by the client
    • Synthesize project findings into actionable recommendations with demonstrable benefits in business performance
    • Communicate with clients through written reports and oral presentations
    • Provide administrative support to client, such as creating briefing books, developing correspondence and scheduling meetings

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's (Masters preferred) degree in Business, Logistics, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or related field required
    • Active Secret clearance is required
    • Excellent MS PowerPoint skills required
    • Excellent communication skills required
    • 5-10 years of relevant work experience is required
    • Demonstrated progressive responsibility in project management and planning position
    • Ability to deliver client work products and deliverables
    • Ability to work in a fast paced team-based environment
    • Knowledge of MS Project
    • Knowledge of MS Visio
    • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and presentation skills
    • Excellent customer relationship management skills
