    LMI is seeking a Communications Specialist who will provide subject matter expertise support in the communications program for a government Agency or Office. This will include planning strategy, workforce development, outreach campaigns and development of communication solutions. Communication with the customer’s mid-level and senior-level staff, and collaboration with a broad range of personnel is also required. The position will be located in the Washington, DC area

    Responsibilities

    PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Provide communications services that assist to convey, promote, and disseminate information to HR stakeholders related to ongoing and future hiring initiatives.
    • Collaborate with HR and its stakeholders to produce communications products and plans.
    • Provide communication support that shall assist with managing enterprise-level internal and external communications channels, products, and partnerships for HR.
    • Convey, promote, and disseminate various materials related to the organization's priorities and initiatives.
    • Develop a wide variety of written materials (e.g., forms, procedures, brochures, pamphlets, white papers, memoranda, etc.) for the purpose of documenting standard operating procedures, policies, and/or conveying information.
    • Lead the development and production of reports, articles, presentations, scripts, talking points, testimony, web content, new (social) media content, and press releases in a clear and concise fashion to technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Manage and update projects, including events, as necessary.
    • Work independently and collaboratively with contractor staff to plan, manage, and implement activities in the following areas: research and evaluation, meeting design and coordination, communications activities, serving as the liaison and contractor representative at meetings, and establishing and maintaining partnerships with CBP's HR objectives.

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years of experience or master’s degree with 7 years of experience, including specialized experience in Federal HR
    • Significant expertise in communications principles, methods, practices, and techniques, including skill in presenting ideas in speech and in written form to inform and persuade audiences at all levels of the organization
    • Experience designing, developing, and delivering strategic communications through a variety of media, including print and digital
    • Experience developing and implementing strategic communications plans for complex federal organizations
    • Exceptional oral and written communication and presentation skills, with proficiency in multiple methods of visual communication
    • Active TS/SCI is required
    • Proficiency with the use of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, Project, Visio, etc.

     

    PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

    • Experience in federal government or federal government consulting
    • Experience in Intelligence Community is highly desired
    • Active TS/SCI is required, however a TS/SCI CI or FS Poly is desired.
