    Would you like to lead the go-to-market strategy to grow a business? Are you ready to use your management skills to identify, qualify and help pursue new opportunities?

    LMI is looking for an experienced business developer to lead our Health and Civilian Market business development team, promote our offerings and solutions, and most of all, the critical skills of our excellent employees, to federal agencies across the health care and civilian markets. We are seeking an energetic self-starter who is focused on winning competitive pursuits and positioning LMI as the thought leader it is in this field. This position is based in Tysons, VA and reports directly to our SVP of Business Development.


    • Guide a small team to identify and qualify multi-million dollar engagements across HHS, Military Medical Agencies, HA, VA and other civilian agencies (NASA, GSA, USPS, others), develop go-to-market plans in conjunction with our lines of service and market leads, participate in the proposal process as the voice of the customer and collaborate with capture managers, solution architects and subject matter experts to develop winning pursuit strategies.
    • Work with colleagues to advance opportunities through a Shipley-like business development and proposal lifecycle process and take responsibility for enabling market leads to meet their annual revenue goals. Coordinate call plans and interactions with potential federal customers, conduct presentations of LMI offerings to targeted agencies, and drive opportunities through to completion with award.
    • Oversee and focus the activity of business developers who are direct reports, and coordinate BD activity of others in a highly-matrixed environment. Advise capture teams on customer points of view and preferences and generally serve as the voice of the customer once opportunities advance past identification and qualification.
    • Participate in color team reviews of proposals, blackhat initiatives, gathering of competitive intelligence and capture strategy discussions. Inform lines of service on development of offerings and solutions.



    10 years or more federal business development experience as an individual contributor and/or team lead with significant accomplishments in winning mid-size to large deals. Familarity with one or more of the following areas preferred; management consulting, program management, data analytics, digital government services as well as logistics and supply chain. Technical acumen desired. Proven network of colleagues in the VA and HHS health management space a plus.
