  • Overview

    This individual will be responsible for a wide range of engineering management and design oversight activities related to the client’s program management team. The engineering consultant will support the design, construction, installation and sustainment of our client’s tactical infrastructure projects (towers, roads, etc.) along the U.S. border, primarily the southern border with Mexico.


    This position can be based in Euless, TX or Arlington, VA.


    This position will serve as a Senior Engineer responsible for assisting a federal agency manage its tactical infrastructure and tower infrastructure along the border of the United States. Responsible for supporting the Government in the implementation of design and maintenance standards, development of strategies and engineering reviews of designs during the project planning, design, and construction phases to ensure the Government standards are followed. Will perform and review portfolio-level planning documents including site assessments, preliminary designs, alternatives analysis, schedules and cost estimates. Responsible for the review of design plans and ensuring  design engineers comply with federal , state, and local regulations, codes, directives and standards.. Responsible for reviewing and analyzing condition and maintenance reports to establish the technical direction of client’s maintenance and repair program for the associated infrastructure.


    A background in communications tower design, construction, maintenance and repair is highly desired. Related facilities and infrastructure would include transportation projects and large public works projects. The candidate shall have consultative capabilities with strong communication and organizational skills. Must be able to work in a dynamic, politically-charged environment across multiple organizations, numerous stakeholders (internal and external) and evolving priorities while maintaining a professional, can-do attitude. Requires a proactive leader able to work with minimal guidance.


    • 10+ years’ experience in engineering design, management and oversight, preferably with some consulting experience
    • Experience in a consulting role, either within an AEC firm or a consultancy working with the federal government
    • Demonstrated ability to be effective in both a team environment and an independent setting
    • Experience in one or more of the following areas:
      • Construction management
      • Infrastructure maintenance and or repair experience
      • Structural or civil/site design experience
      • Communications tower design, construction or maintenance
    • Familiarity with the following software tools:
      • MSOutlook, MSWord, MSExcel and MSPowerPoint
      • Experience with Microsoft Project is a plus
    • Strong candidate will be able to demonstrate experience in working with multiple stakeholders and building consensus
    • Experience in managing simultaneously, multiple projects with independent schedules and budgets
    • Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a comprehensive government security investigation must meet eligibility requirements for access to sensitive information. The background investigation includes financial, criminal, residential, educational, foreign affiliation, and employment verifications.
    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited institution
    • Registration as a Professional Engineer is required
    • Certified Construction Manager (CCM) and or Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred
    • Moderate travel within the CONUS will be required
