    Participate on a Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) contractor team providing technical and program management support to the Unites States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) Strategic Plans, Policy, and Logistics Directorate.  Responsible for the development of technical (maturity, research goals and methods, prototyping) and programmatic (project design) knowledge for promising new capabilities. Duties may include:

    • Collaborating across USTRANSCOM, Transportation Component Commands, federal laboratories, industry, and academia to identify capability shortfalls and technology opportunities.
    • Provide assistance to the USTRANSCOM staff in the initiation, execution, and closeout of innovative Technology Transfer (T2) projects.
    • Advising on T2 specific project structures, including technical goals, concept technical maturity, collaborator selection, resource commitments, research methods, and outcomes/deliverables, for a wide variety of concept and technology projects.
    • Provides technical and programmatic assistance to T2 project Principal Investigators.
    • Assist in all phases of the USTRANSCOM T2 project lifecycle, from initial indication of need through industry discussions, construction of specific projects, and generation of research findings.
    • Provide support in development of technical and business strategy information and prototypes that demonstrate the application, utility, technical maturity, affordability and feasibility of new technologies, processes and techniques beneficial to USTRANSCOM/Joint Deployment and Distribution Enterprise (JDDE) operations.
    • Drafting supporting documentation for planning, programming and budgeting processes, to include providing supporting documentation for decision-making/resourcing processes
    • Assist in preparation and of PowerPoint presentations, process summary reports, meeting minutes/notes, and other program documentation.


    • Bachelor’s degree in data science, mathematics, statistics, economics/finance, computer science, engineering, or other related business or quantitative discipline is desired.
    • Project Management Professional (PMP), acquisition, and/or T2 experience/certifications desired
    • DoD and/or USTRANSCOM experience leading/managing large technology programs including collaborating with industry, academia, and other government agencies preferred.
    • Must be proficient using Microsoft Office tools
    • Must be able to lead and collaborate with others in project team-oriented environment, communicate complex analyses verbally and in writing, and develop innovative approaches to solving technical challenges.
    • Must be available for occasional travel.
    • For this position, LMI will only consider applicants with a minimum of a SECRET clearance as granted by the Personnel Security Management Office-Industry (PSMO-I).
