    LMI has an immediate need for a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt to work onsite with our client in Herndon, VA. The ideal candidate will serve on the business process staff for a U.S. government agency, working with classified data. An active Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.

    Responsibilities

    The individual will be a member of a training, certification, and process improvement program focused on Six Sigma tools and techniques, such as DMAIC, to complete process improvement projects. By defining the problem, measuring the current process by collecting data, analyzing the relevant data, optimizing the process, and controlling the process output, Black Belt personnel will help to reduce defects, maximize product and service quality, and apply decision models to address business process challenges for a federal government agency.

    • Works with other certified Black Belt and Green Belt professionals to plan, design, and accomplish key projects.
    • Facilitates Yellow and Green Belt training certification courses.
    • Facilitates Rapid Improvement Events/Kaizen Events.
    • Mentors candidates through their Green Belt Certification projects.
    • Conducts Lean Six Sigma studies and process improvement engagements.
    • Leads and manages Six Sigma projects to accomplish measurable business process improvements.
    • Employs Six Sigma methodology and analytics into organizational operations to accomplish business objectives.
    • Conducts extensive quality control and record-keeping procedures to ensure the highest levels of data integrity.
    • Researches data and develops program review materials.
    • Researches best practices pertaining to performance operations and standards.

    Qualifications

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

    • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph
    • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, business administration, project management, accounting, or a related field
    • Ten or more years of experience working in a process improvement function
    • Five or more years of experience leading Six Sigma projects
    • Black Belt training and certification through a Six Sigma accredited organization
    • Strong communication and briefing skills
    • Strong leadership, decisive and analytical, persuasive, and exceptional project management abilities
