  • Overview

    This position supports the Tactical Warfare Systems Office, Assistant Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment, with acquisition oversight efforts for the F-35 Program. This position will be located in Arlington, VA.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Acquisition/Program Support: Routing draft documents, coordinating comment resolution and incorporating comments into final version.  Produce executive level presentations and point papers.  Assists in coordinating with the F-35 enterprise on all program issues. Serves as F-35 systems resource.
    • Requirements Development: Maintains communication with the US Services requirements officers on fleet requirements and integration across a wide range of topics and issues. Assists in obtaining required analytical products that support formal requirements documents.
    • Planning, Program, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE): Provides analysis regarding program execution, out-year planning and the creation of the Program Objective
    • Memorandum (POM) and program requirements issue sheets. Utilizes the Program Budget Information System (PBIS) to analyze changes to F-35 Program Element lines.
    • Provides, supports and complies with a variety of activities (e.g. required/contractual training, special projects, proposals, data calls, etc.).

    Qualifications

    • MA/MS, and the following required experience:
    • Minimum of 15 years of combined experience with DoD tactical aviation operations, DoD acquisition program support for an Acquisition Category (ACAT) 1 / Major Defense Acquisition Program (MDAP) level, and ACAT 1/MDAP acquisition oversight and/or requirements development at the OSD or Service Headquarters level.
    • Experience managing the acquisition of aircraft systems modernization and/or production efforts
    • DAU-certified Level 3 PM with PM experience in major system acquisition
    • Headquarters staff experience working for senior leaders in within the PPBE process
    • Requires TOP SECRET clearance (SCI Eligible)
    • Desired expert knowledge of 4th-5th generation strike fighter aircraft operations and systems such as F/A-18, F-15, F-22 and F-35, including but not limited to, weapons systems, helmet mounted visual systems, advanced sensors, avionics, and training systems.
    • Command of Microsoft Office Suite in order to produce executive level briefing materials, presentations and point papers.
    • Additional desired qualifications:
      • Defense Systems Management College, PMT 401 graduate
      • Technical degree in an engineering or science field
