LMI, a strategic consulting organization focused on providing solutions to the federal government, is seeking a Functional Expert Consultant in DoD business systems to support Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) Office of Cost Assessment and Program Evaluation (CAPE) with experience relating to DoD major systems or programs including weapons systems; operations, logistics, and sustainment costing. Cross service (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, OSD, Joint) experience is a plus.


The mission of OSD-CAPE is to provide the Department of Defense (DoD) with timely, insightful and unbiased analysis on resource allocation and cost estimation problems to deliver the optimum portfolio of military capabilities through efficient and effective use of each taxpayer dollar. This effort will oversee development of a data platform, Enterprise Visibility and Management of Operating and Support Costs (EVAMOSC), that will address known issues with operations and support cost data completeness, accuracy, granularity, and reporting frequency.


  • Functional expertise relating to DoD business, financial management, and logistics, and maintenance Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Demonstrate expertise in ERP operations with understanding of the types of data each produces, and the business processes they support.
  • Support data mapping and business logic flows.
  • Have knowledge of the cost management modules of the ERPs, and apply that to the program.



  • Bachelors Degree
  • 8 years of working experience
  • Experience with DoD business, financial management, and logistics, and maintenance Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Experience with development and deployment of data platforms and data analytics in a cloud computing environment.
  • Experience working with stakeholder communities such as: Cost, Financial Management, Acquisition, Logistics, Maintenance, or Product Support.
  • Experience with US Army and Marine Corps financial and logistic processes.


  • Experience with weapons system cost data.
  • Experience working with OSD-CAPE stakeholder communitie.
  • Experience with operating in NIPR environments.
