Overview:

LMI is seeking a senior Cyber Security Systems Engineer to support an Intelligence Community client. This position will be located in the Northern Virginia area.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure software, data science, and AI/ML solutions are security compliant, hardened, tested, evaluated, proven, and scaled appropriately for the intended user base, whether deployed at an Agency Enterprise level, within specialty enclaves, or boutique platforms
  • Determine security ((e.g., INT overlays, System Security Plan (SSP)) requirements for transitioning to enterprise all the different types of data science tools and analytics, and across a wide variety of hardware and software systems
  • Produce or modify System Security Plans (SSPs) in consultation with Agency ISSM staff for each transition project as needed
  • Maintain transferrable knowledge on open source State-Of-The-Art (SOTA) for AI Security and Assurance (i.e., best practices for guaranteeing that machine learning algorithms are reliable, secure, properly implemented with appropriate data management, as well as governance that supports trustworthy/credible machine learning)
  • Familiarity with requesting server scans, analyzing results, initiating corrective actions and documentation
  • Ensure that all applications, websites, and reports meet cybersecurity policy requirements
  • Create Plans of Action and Milestones and meet cybersecurity annual report requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Agency, DoD and related Certification & Accreditation policies, risk management frameworks, and NIST controls
  • Guide activities to achieve and maintain ‘Authorization To Operate’, as necessary

Qualifications

Required:

  • TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a computer science or related field
  • Senior Skills Level
  • Five or more years' experience maintaining security posture of Sponsor compute environments, including cloud environments.
  • Five or more years' experience creating and maintaining security system plans (SSP) and other security relevant documentation for compute systems and applications.
  • Experience managing the full lifecycle of, and workflows for, security accreditation projects under the ICD503 Rev. 4 framework.
  • Extensive knowledge of Sponsor's information system security policies, and risk management framework.

Desired:

  • Masters degree
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively engage with Sponsor Information System Security Managers (ISSMs) to ensure security compliance of systems.
  • Experience obtaining IC reciprocity for at least one security accreditation project.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting IC and/or DoD systems engineering or IT-based systems.
  • CISSP or equivalent cyber security certification (Information Assurance System Architect and Engineer IASAE Level II, CASP CE, or CSSLP, etc.)
  • Experience translating security standards into systems and practices.
  • Ability to listen and understand task descriptions and requests, explain problem resolutions, and respond to time-critical queries.
