Overview

LMI is seeking a senior Software Engineer to support an Intelligence Community client. This position will be located in the Northern Virginia area.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and guide a team of software developers and domain experts to design and develop data-intensive, software and web-based applications
  • Perform software development activities including requirements gathering and analysis, systems design, development, documentation, testing and integration.
  • Lead the employment of Agile software development methodologies and practices
  • Oversee the use of lifecycle management tools (e.g., Atlassian JIRA)
  • Build, test, and deploy software for a wide variety of data science and analytics applications and services.
  • Work with data scientists, data engineers, data product engineers, infrastructure engineers, network engineers, security engineers, and software developers to develop and stand up analytics operating environments.
  • Oversee use of distributed source control tools (e.g., Git)

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
  • Bachelors in a technical field in computer science, engineering, or a related field
  • Desired Expert or SME skill level.
  • Ten (10) years of combined experience with software engineering lifecycle software solutions.
  • Experience developing and maintaining complex systems that involved integrating COTS, GOTS and Open Source components.
  • Demonstrated experience in web development and relational or graph databases
  • Experience with automated software build, integration, testing, and deployment tools.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities through prior experience working with senior management to find solutions for customers and leading teams performing software development.
  • Strong communication skills and experience working with software development teams under source control project environments.
  • Experience performing software development for Government programs of similar scope and complexity.
