The Basis Database Administrator will work on a large project team supporting the Army Shared Services Center (Army SSC) organization located at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. The Army SSC provides capability support services to all Army Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) logistics and financial systems. Capability support includes system sustainment, sustainment modernization, and enhancement activities such as system design, development, testing, and deployment. Specific tasks include functional analysis, help desk, cybersecurity, quality assurance, configuration management, database administration, portal and support tool management, SAP BASIS support, technical services, interface/middleware maintenance, and system monitoring.


The Basis Database Administrator will assist the Army SSC in providing SAP Database Management services for all SAP databases utilized in the solution architecture. These services include database architecture, application level database, and enterprise level database administration, database services, database security services, and interface support. The Basis Database Administrator shall support Army SSC in providing IAVA patching, database tuning, installing schemas and instances, managing servers and storage, managing automation for backup and recovery, and database archiving services.


  • Active DoD Top Secret or Interim Top Secret Clearance (SCI not required)
  • IT Level 1 and IAT Level 1 certification required
  • 10 years in SAP BASIS Administration
  • Experience in the following activities: SAP software installation, SAP software/kernel upgrades, IAVAs patching, troubleshooting, configuring, monitoring, tuning, client copies, system refreshes, transport management, performing backups/restores, disaster recovery, printer/spool administration, batch job administration, security administration, starting/stopping applications/databases, system landscape directory, single sign-on, and SAP Service Marketplace/OSS Administration
  • Knowledge in SAP ABAP and SAP JAVA stack and non-SAP applications/tools
  • Experience with comprehensive SAP BASIS support for the enterprise, which includes the following SAP, non-SAP components, and/or applications: ECC, SCM, LiveCache, BW, BW Java, PI/PO, SLT/sidecar, EWM, SolMan, GRC, EP, CAMS/MII, C-Folders, NWDI, BOBJ, Data Services, Information Steward, TREX, Fiori/Fiori Launchpad, Splunk, Remedy, ServiceNow, Rev-Trac, ChaRM, and SAProuter
  • Extensive hands-on database administration/functions in the following:
    • Oracle/Oracle Enterprise Manager, HANA, Oracle RAC, Oracle GRID, super cluster, and High Availability/Disaster Recovery
    • Provide primary/secondary on-call BASIS support
    • 2 years of LMP experience in BASIS related activities or 10 years of BASIS support in a commercial/private/defense environment
    • Familiar with LMP Change Lifecycle process
    • Familiar with Remedy, DISA Support Request, ServiceNow, RevTrac, CRDB, FACT, and RCA process
    • Familiar with transport management process
    • Familiar with LMP process to request SAP Service Marketplace Object Key request and OSS Service Connection request
