The Oracle Database Administrator will work on a large project team supporting the Army Shared Services Center (Army SSC) organization located at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. The Army SSC provides capability support services to all Army Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) logistics and financial systems. Capability support includes system sustainment, sustainment modernization, and enhancement activities such as system design, development, testing, and deployment. Specific tasks include functional analysis, help desk, cybersecurity, quality assurance, configuration management, database administration, portal and support tool management, SAP BASIS support, technical services, interface/middleware maintenance, and system monitoring.

Responsibilities

The Oracle Database Administrator will assist the Army SSC in providing Non-SAP Database Management services for all non-SAP databases (to include MySQL and Oracle) utilized in the solution architecture. These services include database architecture, application level database, and enterprise level database administration, database services, database security services, and interface support. The Oracle Database Administrator shall support Army SSC in providing IAVA patching, database tuning, installing schemas and instances, managing servers and storage, managing automation for backup and recovery, and database archiving services.

Qualifications

  • Active DoD Top Secret or Interim Top Secret Clearance (SCI not required)
  • IT Level 1 and IAT Level 1 certification required
  • 7 years Oracle database administration experience
  • Experience with Oracle 9i, 10G, 11G, 12c and MS SQL Server
  • Experience with programming languages: SQL, PL SQL, KSH (KornShell), CSH (C-shell), and PERL
  • Expert with Oracle products and functionality: Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN), Data Guard, Oracle RAC, Oracle Automated Storage Management (ASM), Oracle Advanced Security Option (ASO), Transparent data encryption, Oracle Virtual Machine (VM), Oracle Partitioning, SQL Loader, FAST recovery area, Oracle http server, Oracle internet directory, and Performance and tuning packs
  • Experience with database management tools: Control-M, MySQL, Erwin, TOAD, Net Backup, SQL designer, and Script distribution methods (Rdist)
  • Experience with Sun cluster, Unix, Oracle Linux, Red Hat Linux Operating Systems
