The SAP Application Engineer will work on a large project team supporting the Army Shared Services Center (Army SSC) organization located at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ. The Army SSC provides capability support services to all Army Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) logistics and financial systems. Capability support includes system sustainment, sustainment modernization, and enhancement activities such as system design, development, testing, and deployment. Specific tasks include functional analysis, help desk, cybersecurity, quality assurance, configuration management, database administration, portal and support tool management, SAP BASIS support, technical services, interface/middleware maintenance, and system monitoring.


The SAP Application Engineer performs the day-to-day application sustainment, management, and administration of the SAP applications in Acquisition, Finance, Inventory Management/Warehouse Management (IMWM), Manufacturing, Project Systems, Sales and Distribution, and Product Lifecycle Management. Sustainment application enhancements include designing, configuring, building, testing, implementing, and sustaining integration capabilities, including application interfaces and middleware, to integrate data and processes across the Army enterprise.


  • Current National Agency Check and Inquiries (NACI)
  • 10 years’ experience as a SAP Developer:
  • Strong experience with development of highly customized solutions in SAP MM
  • Interface and IDoc knowledge
  • Experience in system, interface and batch monitoring
  • Experience in development, debugging, integration of RICEF objects.
  • Experience with ABAP programs developed using object-oriented technology.
  • Extensive Knowledge of BAPIs, Enhancement points, ALV controls etc.
  • Experience with MM-PUR (PR, PO, Invoice, Receipts, Vendor Master).
  • Integration knowledge of FIN, IMWM, SD and BW modules.
  • Middleware knowledge
  • DLMS knowledge
  • Army Logistical knowledge
  • Army Contracting knowledge
  • 2 years of LMP experience with one or more of the following:
    • Vendor Master,
    • PADDS Contracting processes.
    • SPS Contracting processes,
    • MIPR processes,
    • MILSTRIP requisitioning processes,
    • MILSTRIP Return processes,
    • Constructive Receipt processes,
    • GFEBS/SOMARDS funding processes,
    • Data Migration, Mass Upload, LSMW, and Data Utility Program Tools.
