Overview

LMI is seeking a Digital Acumen Instructor / ISD to support an Intelligence Community client. The client is responsible for ensuring Agency officers gain and refine digital acumen skills from basic to expert level. They are looking for a professional to assist them in identifying, cultivating, and promulgating established and emerging digital acumen and data science methods and skills to improve insights into complex intelligence issues. This position will be located in the Reston, VA area.

Responsibilities

  • Instruct classrooms of up to 25 data scientists, both solo and as a co-instructor, on a variety of COTS and custom courses related to digital acumen, such as Machine Learning Basics and Emerging AI Technology.
  • Collect student feedback and perform minor updates to course materials on a monthly basis.
  • Use feedback, industry/academic research, and collaboration with client SMEs to perform annual refreshes of course material, to ensure courses remain timely and relevant.
  • Collaborate with LMI and client SMEs to formally document new course requirements, goals, objectives, and use cases.
  • Develop in-person and computer-based training modules on a variety of industry and agency-specific concepts, tools, and methods.
  • Adhere to proper agency development processes and documentation to ensure courses receive final client sign-off and a formal course code.

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
  • Bachelors in STEM, education, or comms-related field
  • 5+ years of experience in course instruction and/or design
  • Strong desire to continue learning about emerging technology in data science-related fields
  • Ability to become familiar with current Agency priorities, programs, and issues in order to adapt training programs to reflect changes in Agency mission, structure, regulations, or processes.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Outstanding facilitation skills to manage group processes and elicit student participation.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively and effectively in a team environment

Qualifications (Preferred):

  • Intermediate understanding of general data science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and data visualization.
  • Ability to develop classroom and computer-based training modules.
  • Experience developing custom training courses, to include requirements gathering, lesson plan design, creation of hands-on learning activities, and feedback gathering.
  • Experience reviewing existing training material and developing storyboards for conversion into computer-based training
